"What, still no words after what..... 5, 6 years?" "5 years since......" I wasn't able to finish my words. "Since you left me on the aisle by myself..... looking dumb as hell." She chuckled. "Can we not do this?"
"Do what? Recall what you did?" I was too ashamed to even look her in the eye.

"You know what Christ, you could've talked to me, called me, texted me, or emailed me, if you were having cold feet before the wedding;But no, you left." She yelled.
"I'm sorry........ I .. we were young-"
"Please, enough with the bullshit. We were both grown adults so just stop." They were both quite for a minute. "Well.. um.. I just wanted to check on you after your surgery so I think I'll just leave and let you rest now." As he opens the door, Natalie stops him. "Wait........ I have one more question and I want you to be honest; no more lies." He nods. "Go ahead." He replies. "Why didn't you show up? Why leave me there?"

He was quite and that pissed her off. "Why Christ? I was there for you when you were discharged and everything but after that....... something happened to you and you changed. I don't know if it's just all in my head but I feel like something happened. Why did you leave?" "I........ I just can't answer that for you right now. All I'll say is that you made a good choice by not waiting for me. Now you have your kids and Charles." She looked at him confused. "Kids? Charles? Christ, you know I only have Noah and who is Charles?"

Christ instantly felt his heart drop. "One second Natalie." Christ says quickly before stepping out of the room. He looks around for Charles and spots him asleep in a chair. He walks up to him and shakes him. Charles jumps up quick, "What what? What's wrong?" "Come with me." Christ says quickly before walking around to find Emma. He spots her walking down the hall with supplies in her hand. "Hey, I need you to come with me." Emma gives her stuff to another nurse before walking with them back towards Natalie's room. "Did the surgery go well? Is Natalie ok?" Emma asks. Christ doesn't say anything till they get inside Natalie's room. "Natalie, what's your last memory?" Christ asks her. "Umm.. I remember you leaving me at the alter, and I remember having Noah, but that's it." Natalie says confused. "Why and who are these people?" Natalie says pointing at Emma and Charles. Christ turns to look at Emma and Charles, giving them a knowing look.

"Natalie do you know who Elijah is?" She shakes her head. "No I don't, why do you keep asking me all these questions about people I don't know?" Natalie says frustratingly. "Natalie, it's me Charles, Noah's father and your coworker Emma. You don't remember us?" Charles as her. "No, I don't know who you are, sorry." "It's ok Natalie, hopefully when the anesthesia wears off you'll remember everything. Don't stress it." Christ tells her. "Let's step out for a minute and let her rest." Christ tells Emma and Charles. They leave the room and Charles immediately gets in Christ's face. "What was that Christ?! What happened?!" Charles yells at him. "Charles calm down. Take a deep breath." Emma tells Charles. He takes a step back and takes a deep breath, giving Christ a chance to speak. " I think it's just the anesthesia messing with her memory. When it wears off we'll try talking to her again." Christ says.

"Ok, how long till it wears off?" Charles asks.
"Just give it the rest of the night and we'll try again in the morning." Christ says. "Ok, let's hope she remembers." Charles says. Christ nods before walking away with Emma. Charles sighs before going back inside Natalie's room.
