And then I woke up....

Rubbing my eyes I sat up, looking around in confusion as I tilt my head. I'm...home? Was it all a dream? But how? It felt so real.... Looking down, I could clearly tell that I was in my bed and I was tucked in. But I couldn't see Spinel anywhere. Where was she? Moving the covers off of me, I shivered as the cool air hit my warm skin, sending shivers up my spine. With a bit of effort, I swung my legs over the side of the bed, as goosebumps danced along my skin as my feet touched the cool wooden flooring. Checking myself over, I was still wearing the clothes I had on before. Where's Spinel? Were my parents still here? As I was about to get up, I froze as I heard footsteps coming towards my room. However, when the door opened I was relieved to see Spinel walk into my room.

"Good morning (Name)" She said happily as she carried a bowl of (Favourite) cereal in her gloved hands. I tilt my head at her slightly " Good morning? Spinel? What happened? How did we get here?" I asked. Spinel smiled happily, as she held her chin in one hand. " Well... After you fell asleep on Steven's bed, The other Gems came back. It got dark. And Steven needed his bed back, so I decided to carry you here! You looked so peaceful. I didn't want to wake you up." She said happily.

"Oh..." I said as I looked down. So it was a dream...I frowned slightly. But why am I upset with that? Shaking my head I looked back at Spinel with a smile " Oh, well, Thank you for taking me home then" I said as I got up. " You're welcome," Spinel said happily as she handed me the bowl. Taking it I began to head back down the stairs and out of my room. Making my way into the living room, I sat on the couch and I placed the bowl on my lap. " Hey, Spinel, you wanna watch something?" called out as she grabbed a bowl of cereal for herself along with a spoon before use stretched one leg and placed her foot on the ground in front of the couch and she pulled the rest of her body forward and she sat next to me. " Oh! Steven has one of these! It's similar to homeworlds screens" She said as she motioned to the Tv. "Except ours is a holographic screen," She said as she pointed at the tv in front of us.

Smiling I nod "Well. we use these for mostly entertainment. That or the news so we know what's going on in places we cannot reach ourselves" I explained as I turned the Tv on. Spinel smiled as she nodded along with what I said As I change the channel over to a more cartoony show, As I figured it's been I would like that better than the news or something like that. So SpongeBob would have to do. And apparently, Spinel seemed to love it. Because as I ate my breakfast, Spinel would crack up laughing and nudging me when the characters on screen would make a joke.

It was pretty cute, to say the least. Eventually, we had both finished eating so I got up, taking them to the kitchen and I washed them. Otherwise, my parents would be suspicious as to why I used two different bowls. While I cleaned, Spinel picked up the tv remote and she began to press the buttons in confusion. As the channels changed, Spinel stopped on the news channel where the protest from the day before appeared on the screen. " Hey (Name)! Look it's us!" Spinel exclaimed as she pointed at the tv where it showed me stopping spinel from bashing the one protester. My eyes widen as I raced back into the living room and I stared at the Tv.

Spinel seemed to pick up on my nervousness as she looked at me, tilting her head "(Name), You okay?" she asked. I shook my head in a mix of fear and panic "S-Spinel...My parents could see this" I said and her eyes widen as she realised what I meant. But as if the world was against us at that moment, the phone for the apartment began to ring. My body stiffened as I looked down at it. It was my mother... turning to Spinel I watched as she made her fist grow a little and she instantly punched the phone, breaking it in the prosses. "Spinel?!" " I'm not losing you!" She snapped as she brought her fists to her side as she stood. " I won't let them take you from me! I won't! " She said as she frowned at me. Shaking my head I walked closer to her "Spinel, I'm not goi-" I froze as the door opened up, revealing my Mother in the doorway, my father behind her. But before I could say anything, Spinel stretched her foot and kicked my parents, making them fall back. Spinel wrapped her arms around me as she then bolted out of the apartment. "Spinel!" I yelled as I clung onto her as I heard the faint shouts my parents in the distance.

Spinel, however, didn't stop until we were a fair distance away and she gently put me down. I frowned at Spinel and coward down as she realized she had ma a pretty big mistake. "(Name)...I'm sorry...I wasn't thi-" " Of course you weren't thinking!" I snapped and Spinel shrunk down a little, her pigtails lowering and clinging to the side of her head like a saddened puppy. Sighing I took a hold of her shoulder Calming down. "Spinel...I know...you're scared. But...you've got me. I don't care what my parents say. I won't leave you." I said gently as I wiped the tears that began to stream down her cheeks. Spinel sniffled slightly as she nods and her arms instantly coiled around me, bringing me closer to her as her face nuzzled into the top of my head, and my cheeks turned a light pink as our bodies were closely held together.

As we hugged, the events from my dream came back to mind. why do I want it to be real?.. it was just a dream...Wasn't It?...What if she doesn't like me back? After all...Wasn't she made to just be a friend? A sigh escaped my lips as I looked down it was worth a shot. Even though it was only a slight move away from Spinel, I could still the sight hurt in her expression. That was until however, I leaned up and pecked her cheek. And this time it was no dream, it was real. Spinel's cheeks turned a deep red as I smiled at her, Pulling away from her hold, I held my hand to her. "Come on. We can't go back to my place... At least not yet. I'm sure Steven would understand if we ask to stay a night or two. We're in this, Together." Spinel Smiled softly as she took my hand with a nod, her gaze gentle yet it held determination. "Together"
