Forget Me Not (Spinel X Fem!Reader)

Spinel and I were sitting on the couch of our apartment, and of course, Spinel wanted to watch the new lion king movie she had gotten from the store. It had been two days since the confessions had spilt from our lips. Since then, holding onto me was a must for Spinel. Even if it was just holding my hand, she was just happy to hold onto me. 

“Oh! Here it comes!” Spinel chirped as she pointed at the tv, and I let out a laugh. “Spinel, Shhhh,” I said as I took her shoulder before I gently pulled her back down on the couch. As the movie continued, I had to hold Spinel by the shoulder to keep her from jumping up. Smiling, I let out a hum as we came to another scene. I knew that Spinel was about to jump again, I grabbed her by the sides and I pulled her onto my lap and my arms locked themselves around Spinel's waist.” No more jumping around. I wanna watch the movie” I said as I pecked her cheek. Spinels cheeks flushed red and she smiled, leaning back into my hold “it’s just really good.” She said and I rested my head on her shoulder. For the rest of the movie, Spinel luckily stayed still, with a few bits of laughter.

Once the movie was over, I smiled as I turned the tv off and closed my eyes. “(Name)?” she asked as she looked at me, and I let out a hum to let her know I was listening.  “ Is that really what happens? Like in the movie?” She asked. I pursed my lips together in thought. “ I guess. In a way. But not entirely. The movie portrayed them like humans in lions body” I said and Spinel nods. But within a few moments, a growl came from my stomach and I licked my lips. Spinel turned around on my lap as she smiled “Hungry?” She asked, pecking my lips before she stood up and she held a hand out to me which I gladly took “Yeah. You want to go out? Pizza sounds heavenly to me” I said. Nodding, Spinel stretched her arm out and grabbed my shoes, placing them in front of me. 

“I could have gotten them,” I said and Spinel shrugged “ I know” She replied and I rolled my eyes. Once we were ready we walked out of the apartment with Spinel following. But as I heard a noise where Spinel was, I turned to see that she had shapeshifted into a pinkish-red lion, the tips of her mane forming bumps to resemble hearts and her Gem sat on her chest, close to her neck. “You can do that?!” I exclaimed as I looked up at her as her head was a few inches higher than mine. Seeing my awe struct look, she snickered “Duh” Se said with a playful roll of the eyes before she lowered herself. “Now get on,” She said and I smiled as I eagerly climbed onto her back, and I smiled at the texture of the fur of her strawberry coloured mane. It was so soft. Smiling I ran my finger through it before I pushed my face into her mane as she began to run. It even smelled like a strawberry. A hum escaped my lips as I held onto her, a sigh of content leaving my lips. 

“(Name)!” someone called out. Hesitantly I lifted my face from the fluffy heaven to see Steven riding on his lion. “Hey!” I grin as I waved over to him. Catching up to Spinel and I, he shook his head “ Where did the lion come from?!” he exclaimed as he motioned to Spinel. “That’s Spinel,” I said as I pointed to the upside-down heart on her chest and she looked up at steven with what looked like a smirk. Steven nods as he made an ‘oh’ shape with his mouth “Where are you heading?” “Spinel and I are heading out to fish stew pizza for something to eat, You wanna tag along?” I asked and steven thought for a moment. Smiling, he nods as he grinned. “Sure! I’ll meet you there, I’ll go get a friend I want you to meet.” He said and I gave him a thumbs up. His lion let out a loud roar, creating a portal and they went through before it closed up. 

Smiling I sat up on Spinel and I gently patted her side as she continued to run towards beach city. Eventually, Fish Stew Pizza came into view so Spinel slowed down and stopped in front of the building. Smiling, I slid off of her back before I took her head in my hands “Thank you” I said as I leaned up to kiss the top of her muzzle. And I let out a giggle as she leaned into my hold before she went back to how she was before and she gently took one of my hands and lead me inside “Come on” She said. 

Once we were inside, I brought ourselves to one of the four-person tables. And soon, a girl walked over with two menus. “ Hello,” She greeted with a smile. “My name is Kiki, what would you both like to drink?” she asked. Glancing at Spinel I looked back at her “Two (favourite drink)’s, please. Oh, and we have two others joining us as well” I said and she nods “Alright. I’ll get back to you on your order then” She said as she walked away, leaving you and spinel alone at the table. Smiling spinel rested her head on my shoulder in which I proceeded to rest my head on top of hers. That was until Steven and another girl, who seemed to be human, came in.  

“(Name)! This is the friend I wanted you to meet.” He said with a smile as they sat in front of Spinel and I. The girl, in turn, smiled happily as she held out a hand to me “Hello, I’m Connie” she greeted with a friendly tone and she held out a hand to me. “(Name). It’s nice to meet you” I said and Connie nodded before she looked at Spinel and said hello. 

“So, did you both order something already?” He asked. Shaking my head I grabbed my glass and took a sip of my drink “ No. we only got something to drink. We decided to wait for you” I explained. Steven nods and when Kiki came back, she took Connie’s and Steven’s order before the four of us decided on a half cheese and half (topping) pizza. Kiki nodded before she walked off and Steven turned towards me. 

“So. I heard some gems have seen that cloaked person.” Steven began as he ran a hand over his hair. “They poofed a gem as well. Someone intervened before they could do anything but they were able to get away.” He sighed. I gave a smile as I nod “alright, we’ll keep an eye out. And this time we won’t let them get away.” I said and Steven nodded. “Alright. Anyways, we can think about that later. Right now, I just want to relax”  He said as he leaned back in his chair, gaining a nod from me, Spinel and Connie.
