~NANDINI~

"Nandini! Naha le! Kitni der ho gayi hai... Pooja bhi karni hai..." Amma shouted from the kitchen.

"Jaa rahi hoon." Picking up my clothes i went to take a shower.

Yesterday, was a awesome day. I had thought of surprising him but Manik surprised me instead. He is such a nice guy, always making my wishes come true.

He said they will be here after, Lunch. Cabir bhai, Dhruv bhai and Abhi bhai will come after lunch only. We will celebrate this festival together.

After getting dressed into a peach skirt-kurta that I brought from Biba i cane out.

"Ho gayi mai ready." I smiled cheekily.

"Ehsaan aapka!" Naina di rolled her eyes at me and Navya snickered.

We both got ready then and sat down for pooja. Though Appa is South Indian we mostly follow North Indian tradition. As Amms (grandma) was a North Indian and she always followed her traditions.

We are big fat joint family. My taiji-tauji live just above us, while all my 3 chacha-chachi live in a house adjacent to ours.

Amma began reading the story from the holy book while all three of us girls sat with our hands joined and head bowed. After the pooja got over we stood up and put the bhog on som.

After all this was done we finally settled in the drawing room. "Naina, Appa ko call karke bula lo." Amma said and went into the kitchen.

She called Appa and he said he will be here in 5.
"I am so hungry!" Apparently we shouldn't eat before tying Rakhi.

"Me too." Navya agreed with me.

"Ho gayi pooja?" Appa asked coming through the door. "Haan Appa."

"Good, Rishu!" He called Rishabh, who came running almost instantly.

Aur khel pubg.

"Okay, bachha party start your tyohar." Appa said and on cue Naina di got up.

She tied the Rakhi and then stuffed his mouth with sweets. "Where's my gift?" She forwarded her hand making Rishabh scowl. "Lo!" He put an envelope in her hand which she happily snatched away.

Next was my turn...
I happily skipped and tied the rakhi on his hand an he frowned when he saw his.
"Hey? Yeh itni badi hai.."
"Chup reh chal!" I stuffed his mouth with the sweets and he scowled at me, i put my hand forward for the gift...

"What the?" I scowled when he put a 2₹ coin in my hand. "Aise haath karegi toh kya karu? Bheek hi toh dunga..." He smiled.

"Apppaaaaa!" I whined. "Rishu!" He said sternly and Rishu finalley pulled out my envelope.

Then Navya tied the rakhi and Rishu smiled all throughout.

Mere liye no smiles! Huhh. Navya ke saamne itna seedha...

After that me and Naina di went and tied the rakhi's to our other brothers that included sons of chacha-chachi & taiji-tauji.

"Uff I am hungry!" Rubbing my stomach out of hunger i settled beside Navya who was keenly watching ask laftan analamaz. I too joined her to divert my mind from my baby.

Mama will feed you soon baby! I whispered to my stomach and focused on the show.

We were holed up in my room, which is the innermost and i share it with Naina di and sometimes Rishabh too. My room generally is the guest-room + storeroom of our house. Its always messy, with my books and other stuff.
