NANDINI'S POV:
After scrubbing off last nights remains i take a nice long shower which was due since long.
Pulling on a bath robe i enter the room. Completing my after-bath routine i change into my Birthday dress.
Amma gifted it to me.
A simple and elegant white suit.
It had small silver beads with beautiful white kadhai work on the straight kurta with pants. Putting on the dupatta over my shoulder i check out the whole outfit. It looks awesome.
Applying a little bit of kohl into my eyes i wear the jhumkas.
I tie my hair in a side fish-braid.
And i am done. I pick up my wallet and phone and then head out towards the guest house.
With a slight skip in my feet i walk. I am happy. After all it my 18th birthday! Its a given i would be happy.
But how will i go?
The most sad part for me is that Amma and Appa won't be here with me today. How i wish i was home.
My phone rings bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Hi!"
"Happy Birthday bitch!" Naina di wishes me over the phone and I pout
"Thanks..."
"Acchhha okkk... Don't pout!" She says making me open my mouth. I walk ahead still talking.
"Aapko kaise pata chala?"
"Teri bhen hoon Nandu... I know how you are..." She says and laughs.
"Kaisi ho tum?" I ask changing the topic.
"Sahi hoon. Yeh sab chod. I ordered a watch for you from Myntra as your gift. Jab mile toh batana..." She says making me jump in joy.
"Really? Thank you so much... Haayeee....meri bhen kitni badi ho gayi... Ab kama rahi hai and she is also sending me gifts from her salary...Wow i am so lucky..." She laughs out loud at my drama.
"Chal nautanki! Drama band kar. And mujhe bata diyo kaisi lagi. But aaj college nahi hai tera?"
"Tumne order ki hai toh mast hogi. And college toh off hai. Abhi toh i am assisting Fab5 na..." I tell her and she oohhs.
"To madam apne life long favourite crush ko assist kar rahi hai..." She says teasing me.
"Really? Aise keh rahi ho jaise you never had a crush on him!"
"What? Mai aur uss Manik pe crush? No never!"
"Achhaww?"
"Haan. Vaise bhi i love someone." She says.
"Hahah lol. Wait! What?" I ask utterly baffled.
"Oops."
"No oops. Who is it?"
"My boss...." She trails off.
"Aahaa...Office romance haan...." I tease her.
"Shut up! Mujhe nahi pta if he loves me or not..." She says sadly.
"Trust me didi... Vo tumse bhut pyaar karta hoga... And if not then its his loss..."
"Sachhi?"
"Mucchii..."
"Ok. Chal gotta go. He is calling me." She says and hangs up.
I shake my head in disbelief and walk into the guest house. I enter the living area and find it empty.
