His instincts tell him that he's safe.
It's somewhat strange, considering that he was in the presence of a complete and utter stranger, but he did not for one second doubt them. He hears the sound of fabric, and a blindfold being put over his eyes. The material is soft, he suspects its silk, and his healer wore gloves made of the same material.
The hands are gentle, yet firm, as they run a hand along the wound in his solar plexus, and it stops over his wound, and he can feel the warmth even through the layers of fabric. It's comfortable, and the heat from the hand is warm. He assumes this healer must be in extreme focus, not having said a word, though he is curious as to who the healer was.
Staying in a cottage on a snowy mountain, which seems far removed from civilization, isn't he or she lonely?
The pain comes in a raging tide, as is whatever the healer is doing to him. He bears it. It's something foreign, which digs and buries itself within his body, anchoring within his heart with vicious yet well meant intentions, and it throws his instincts into chaos.
In his mind, it presents itself as a fountain of liquid gold, which while foreign, invasive and intrusive, strange and dangerous, was being used for a different purpose. It wanted to heal him, to close his wounds, regenerate his organs and bring him peace.
Realisation hits him like the sound of clashing swords.
Such a thing should not exist, and his hand instinctively reaches for the healer's arm, wanting to pull it away.
What if this was a demon that was trying to turn him into another?
He remembers his mother's words vividly, and how the Upper Moon demon had treated him, and killed him. There was no way he was going to turn into one of them.
The sensation stops, as he reaches for his blindfold, only to find that the other hand stops him from doing so.
