Kanao Tsuyuri glances at the three individuals at the furthest corner of the room.
Two of them are dressed in artisan clothes, possibly being performers of sorts, and the third, was dressed with a silver blue scarf, and he was seated too far for her to get a closer look. As her companions eat their fill, she too eats her food, but she keeps an eye on the three of them the entire time.
There's something suspicious about the three.
But it was not anything she could pin her suspicions on. The three of them seemed to be good friends, and seemed to be human. Demons rarely ever had human companions, but none of them were the target they were looking for.
The demon they were hunting had six arms, four eyes and dwelled in the snowy mountains, so there was no reason for it to come down into the town. Even if it did, it would have gone on a killing spree already. There were rumours that there was more than one demon, however, and that the four armed ones were but just subordinates to the true demon on the mountain.
The three of them behind fall into an easy camaraderie which Kanao found herself longing for, especially amongst the other male demon slayers in her presence. She wished that Tanjirou and the others had been the ones coming with her on this mission instead of the other members that came with her, not because of their lower ranks, but instead, of the lack any female demon slayers.
She picked her chopsticks up as she silently consumed her meal, amongst the other more messily eating demon slayers, her movements were far more precise and efficient, and she took her time eating her single bowl of food while the others called for second servings and even more.
The head chief had been rambling on and on about sacrifices needed to appease the snow demon spirit of the mountain of something, in all honesty it was highly likely them thinking that they could stop the blizzards and snowstorms by giving children and humans over to the demons.
This was concerning, but they still needed more information.
The other chief, or the other party competing for the head of the village in the next elections, had been far more reliable in the way he spoke. He had told her about a team who was working on evacuating the people and they had predicted an avalanche before hand, to which he warned them to retreat to the other town for the time being.
He had informed them that the avalanche would possibly aid them in flushing out the demon and its subordinates if it had any, or they could possibly be the one to trigger it. The others had been glad to hear this.
On top of that, he had informed them to get in contact with a man by the name of Masahiko, who lived on the mountains and recently came back down if they wanted more information. With this man's help, she could possibly be able to write the first few parts of her report and send it over to Shinobu-san for her to analyse.
Her eyes tracked the three figures as they left the dining room.
Her curiosity was piqued, especially since at first glance, one of their companions had the eyes of the fallen Flame Hashira. None of the other male demon slayers would believe her, since only her vision was sharp enough to pick up on that small detail, and they were all mostly stuffing their faces with food as well, with bits of noodles and soup flying out of their bowls and onto the wooden table top.
She finished her meal quickly, drinking her tea as she waited for the rest of the team of five to finish with their own.
Now only if she could find a way to get out of this dinner....
