Heart Of Fire; Veins Of Ice | Kimetsu No Yaiba Fanfic (Kyojurou's POV)

Akaza watched the crow fly overhead. 

A messenger crow from the demon slaying corps, and he could see the letter it was carrying. 

He wanted to know what was in it. 

And so he chases after the crow.

Through the woods, in the dead of the night, under the pale moonlight. 

With each step he took, the dirt, rocks and twigs beneath his feet were reduced to dust, as the trees were stripped of their leaves from the wind made by his own movements. The crow was high in the sky, and it remained ignorant of his movements. 

That was why you never let animals do your work for you. 

The boy with the hanafuda earrings and the other pillars were his duty to hunt down. If this crow carried a letter with it, it ha to contain some important information regarding their plans. Plans that were worthless and wold only result in more deaths.

The crow barely had a flicker of its fighting spirit. And yet the Corps were letting it handle sensitive information. Pathetic. 

Taking the letter from it would be as easy as killing a child, as the other upper moons would put it. 

There would barely be any resistance as he would snatch it from the air, placing his palm around its breast and his index finger and thumb around its throat. Before he would simply give it a small squeeze, as it struggled in his grasp, cawing and screeching at him. 

And it would die. 

Just like that. 

It was nothing more than an animal, given the wrong mission to fulfil. 

It was so weak it wasn't even going to be worth consuming. 

That reminded him....

It was pity he wasn't able to consume Kyojuro-kun.

Those two weaklings had to interfere, as did the dawn. 

His eyes track the crow, as it flies down the hill, and into a small house by the edge of a once bustling, but now sleepy town. 

He watched a small young boy, about ten years old, stand at the edge of the yard, holding a hand up as the crow landed on his arm. 

The boy had hair the colour of burning fire. 

Just like Kyojuro-kun.

This was going to be interesting.
