San Francisco, Present day
Logan
It has been quite some time since the car accident. It took a while to get over what happened, but Logan knew that his life would never be the same again. He often looks back on that day, wondering what would've happened if he went to the football game. He wouldn't be who he was now. He damaged his brain, specifically, his Hippocampus and Cerebrum. Logan was lucky that he didn't lose his memories or affect his speaking. But the car accident did affect his fine motor skills. The doctors said that Logan would never be the same again. Those words hit him like a wrecking ball. He had decided to not take no for an answer. Logan asked for help from Joan in creating technology that can help him see again in his left eye and to reverse the effects from the car crash. Joan agreed to help their friend, only because Logan agreed to pay them, Joan had joked. The only problem was, Joan wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. They had nearly blown up the house on many different occasions.
"Joan, put the copper wire next to the alloy."
"Here?" Joan asked, pointing to a part that was clearly not the alloy.
"NO JOAN, NOT THERE!"
Logan and Joan put their blood, sweat, and tears in this invention. Everyday after school, Joan would visit Logan and work on the invention little by little. They both worked well into the night (with lots of help from coffee) and slept at school (mostly Joan). After two long years of sleepless nights, they finally finished it in their junior year of college. Well, Joan's junior year. Logan had already graduated and was trying to get more PhDs and subsequently drown in student debt. The invention was supposed to fix most of the damaged parts of Logan's brain and help recover his motor skills.
Miraculously, it did all that. But It also had an unexpected side effect.
Logan found that he could move things with his mind. He had done countless experiments on himself, his powers, and the prosthetic he and Joan had made. He finally concluded that he was able to channel electromagnetic energy and transfer it to the object he wanted to move. He also found that larger objects were much harder to move, but if he concentrated enough, he could lift almost anything off the ground. L
Which is why he came back bruised and sweaty, and flopped on the couch he and Joan shared.
He had realized that this was world-changing , and he couldn't just keep using these powers for trivial things like carrying his backpack. He had to use these powers for change. Logan decided to help others and he became a superhero by the alias 'Algorithm'.
Which is why he came back to his and Joan's apartment, bruised and sweaty, and flopped on the couch, exhausted. Logan fell asleep before he knew it, too tired to bother with a shower. He woke up a few hours later with a blanket covering him, and he knew Joan was there without opening his eyes.
"What do you need Joan?" he said sitting up.
"Hey, I know you just came back from a fight and you want to sleep, but..." Joan said.
"But...?" Logan prompted him.
"There's someone at the door."
"At this hour?" Logan asked, surprised. It was late, so he didn't expect anyone to show up, let alone someone who wanted to speak to him.
"Yeah, and they said that they wanted to see you."
Logan got up and ran his hands through his hair, trying to look presentable, as he knew his hair looked absolutely horrid with sweat and bed-head.
