A Couple of Hours Later;
Corey Taylor...
The rest of the band had turned up about 15 minutes ago but when Sid had explained what was happening, they had made the decision to leave. They didn't want Ash to feel crowded when she got back but they made us promise to tell her they would be back tomorrow.
Sid was pacing, which was making me uneasy, but I knew there was no point in saying anything. We were all on edge. Waiting to hear how Ash was. I wish I had been here when she had been taken down to theatre. There is no way I am leaving again. I would just get Dylan to take me in some stuff. I could shower in the small bathroom in the room. I don't want to be anywhere that doesn't allow me to have Ash in sight.
I made Paul a promise. I had begged him to let her come back to us safe and sound, and in return I would ensure she was always safe and never far from me. Well Ash had come back to us safe and mostly sound, so it was my turn to hold up my end of the deal.
These feelings that I was suddenly having for her, had to be buried. No good could come from them, especially when Sid was still completely devoted to her.
Staring out the window - my mind wondering to Ash and what was happening to her right now. Were they having to put in sutures? Was the bleed under control? What was taking so long? Would we hear news soon?
Dylan was sitting leafing through a magazine that she had purchased for Ash. It was a serial killer magazine - something that Ash was fascinated with. I have to admit that we seemed to have that in common. Maybe if I were to read something it would calm my racing mind. I had just reached for one of the magazines when the Doctor walked into the room.
"Mr. Taylor?" he asked looking between Sid and me.
Ash had asked me if it was ok to put me down as her next of kin - of course it was more than fine for me. As long as she was comfortable with it; that was all that mattered.
"That's me," I followed him out of the room and into a small office space, "is Ashlee ok?"
"Miss. Gray is in recovery. When we removed the tube, she lost a significant amount of blood, but we managed to get more blood into her, and we located the bleed and were able to fix it. We suspect that she will make a full recovery but for the next couple of days, we would like her to remain in bed then we will assess the situation and go from there,"
"She's going to be ok!" it wasn't a question; it was more relief at the news than anything and the doctor seemed to realise that.
"We will have her brought back to her room within an hour depending on how long it takes her to come around. I understand that you are staying with her?"
"I am!" I replied, hoping he isn't about to ask me to leave because that simply is not going to happen.
"I think that is a good idea. Miss. Gray has been through a traumatic ordeal - having a familiar face around should aid in her recovery,"
"Thank you, doc," I really couldn't put into words just how grateful we all were to the professionals taking care of Ash.
"Just doing my job," he replied, "don't be surprised if she is a little groggy. I suspect she will be out of it for most of the day,"
Nodding I thanked him again then made my way back to Sid and Dylan who listened to what I told them. Dylan was uncharacteristically quiet - normally she would have something to say but I guess what happened to Ash had shocked us all.
"I wish I could get my hands-on Cole!" Sid growled as he began pacing again, "that limp-dick fucker needs to be taught a lesson on how you treat women!"
