dad: "Don't forget to put a hat on! It's cold outside."
mom: "Of course it is. It's almost Christmas."
y/n: "I will, I will. I'll do you one better: a hoodie."
dad: "I'm relieved. Now off to the land of learning."
y/n: "Yes, sir."
[Y/N opens door]
y/n: "....Soobin."
soobin: "Hi. I mean, good morning."
dad: "Soobin! Hey! How are you?"
soobin: "I'm good."
mom: "Soobin... hello."
soobin: "Hello."
mom: "Are you here to bike with [y/n] to school?"
soobin: (nods) "If that's alright."
mom: "Of course."
soobin: "Thank you."
dad: "Alright, bike safe!"
soobin: "We will."
[DAD closes door]
dad: "What are you doing?"
mom: "Looking at them through the blinds."
dad: "Tsk. Come over here and help me clear the table."
[MOM trudges over]
y/n: "....um. So..."
soobin: "Did you eat breakfast?"
y/n: "I did."
soobin: "I brought you a bagel."
y/n: "Oh. Thanks. Maybe I'll eat it later during brunch."
soobin: "Cool."
y/n: "Yep."
(silence)
y/n: "What happened after--"
soobin: "I broke up with--"
(silence)
y/n & soobin: "You go first."
y/n: "No, sorry, you can go. What did you say?"
soobin: "I said I broke up with [girlfriend]."
y/n: "What?"
soobin: "That same night after I left the ice skating rink. I'm sorry I left like that."
y/n: "No, it's... it's fine. I'm just trying to wrap my head around everything. I'm..." (sighs) "I'm sorry, Soobin. I feel like this went completely downhill because of--"
soobin: "Don't say it was because of you because it wasn't. Not entirely."
y/n: (silence)
soobin: "I've had time to think about it and I think... I don't know, I think it would've ended up happening regardless."
y/n: "You do?"
soobin: "Yeah. We were growing apart and I could feel it but I didn't want to believe it because who does?"
y/n: "I'm still sorry. You were with her for so many years. You really don't want to think about it more? Maybe talk with her again?"
soobin: "Maybe in the future, to patch things up. But right now, I'm done. For sure I'm done."
y/n: "I'm sorry... it's going to be okay."
soobin: "I hope so. And [y/n]... I'm so fucking sorry she did all of that shit. She admitted it when I confronted her and I'm just... jesus, I'm so sorry. Sorry doesn't even cover it."
y/n: "I know. It wasn't your fault."
soobin: "And it wasn't yours either so don't think that it was. You've been such a great friend to me."
y/n: "You've been such a great friend to me too, Soobin."
soobin: "Well, I gave you a bagel today. Do I get extra points?"
y/n: (laughs) "I didn't know our friendship had a point system."
soobin: "It does starting now. I want to make up for what she did."
y/n: "Soobin, you don't have to do that. Honestly."
soobin: "I want to. Please? I won't go overboard or get you an iPhone."
y/n: "Please don't get me an iPhone. One, it's out of your budget and two, by the time you buy it, Apple will probably have made the next one."
soobin: (laughs) "Okay, so iPhones are off limits, naturally. My wallet couldn't handle it, anyway. What's not off limits?"
y/n: "You're crazy, you know that?"
soobin: "You didn't deserve any of that drama. Let me make it up to you. What about boba after school today?"
y/n: "Can't. I have work today."
soobin: "Hm... do you need help at work?"
y/n: "My boss wouldn't hire you off the bat like that."
soobin: "I can be pretty charming. And if she needs help lifting heavy things, I've got these." (flexes arms)
y/n: (scoffs) "You just lost 5 points."
soobin: "I thought you just said our friendship wasn't based on a point system?"
y/n: "You're losing more points the longer you talk."
soobin: "But what about the bagel?"
y/n: "2.5."
soobin: "Can I bargain for 3?"
y/n: "Deal."
soobin: "3 points. Okay. The goal is to get to 100."
y/n: "A hundred? You've gotta fly me to the moon or something to get me to 100."
soobin: "I'll come up with something close to that."
