hueningkai: "It's so windy outside, I'd blow away."
mrs. kai: "I know."
hueningkai: "Woah, did you see that garbage can? It just--"
mrs. kai: "I have eyes, Hyuka."
hueningkai: "I'm just saying... no customers will come to the shop today."
y/n: "You never know. Maybe people are craving boba."
hueningkai: "In this weather? I don't think so."
soobin: "I have to agree."
hueningkai: "Can't we just close the shop early? Pleaaasseee?"
mrs. kai: "Nope. Just three more hours. I'm going to do an inventory count. Why don't you clean up around here?"
hueningkai: "Gloomy weather makes me not want to clean."
mrs. kai: "You haven't even helped me clean up in the summer."
hueningkai: "Hot and gloomy weather make me not want to--"
mrs. kai: "Clean. Now."
hueningkai: (sigh) "Yes, ma'am."
[MRS. KAI leaves]
hueningkai: "[y/n], Soobin, my dear, wonderful friends."
soobin: "No."
y/n: "Absolutely not."
hueningkai: "Aw, come on! Just help me clean up a little bit. Wipe down a few tables, maybe some of the windows..."
y/n: "Kai, I swear. You are so lazy!"
hueningkai: "Does staying up till 3 a.m. to rack up the highest score in my video game sound like the qualities of a lazy person?"
y/n: "Do you want to clean up the store by yourself?"
hueningkai: "Shutting up now."
soobin: "Can you hand us both a cleaning cloth at least?"
hueningkai: "Here." (tosses cloth) "I'll do the gross stuff like cleaning under the counters and tables and scraping off gum."
y/n: "Ew."
hueningkai: "Soobin, you can do tables. [y/n], you can do windows. And I'll give you guys free drinks afterwards. Deal?"
soobin & y/n: "Deal."
hueningkai: "Ugh. There's so much gunk under here, it's disgusting. Why do people stick their gum under tables?"
soobin: "So they can sit at that same table and continue chewing it later."
y/n: "Ewww. Soobin, can you not?"
soobin: (laughs) "Or they're just gross human beings."
y/n: "Yeah, let's go with the latter instead."
soobin: "Jesus, it's seriously so windy outside. Another tree branch just fell off."
y/n: "Wind scares me."
soobin: "Wind? How about fire?"
y/n: "That's why wind scares me. Wind makes fires grow stronger. Wind is part of tornadoes and thunder storms and--"
soobin: "Alright, I get the picture. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll die down later in the week."
y/n: "I hope so."
hueningkai: "It better. My family is having our annual holiday party next week. People might not come if it's this windy."
y/n: "I'm sure they'll still come. It's annual, right?"
hueningkai: "Right. Hey, you guys should come!"
soobin: "It's not a family only thing?"
hueningkai: "I mean, technically it is but I know my mom wouldn't mind if you guys came. I'll ask her."
mrs. kai: "Kai! Come back here and help me do inventory!"
hueningkai: "But I thought you wanted me to help you cle--"
mrs. kai: "Inventory! Now!"
hueningkai: (groans) "Coming."
[HUENINGKAI leaves]
y/n: (laughs) "You know, realistically we should totally be getting paid for this."
soobin: "I know but it's Kai."
y/n: "I know, I know."
soobin: "The windows look cleaner, though."
y/n: "Thanks. The tables look better, too. I just can't get this spot up here near the sign."
soobin: "Here, let me do it."
y/n: "No, it's okay. I can reach it."
soobin: "Oh really? How?"
y/n: "Grab that chair over there."
soobin: (grabs chair) "Are you really going to--"
y/n: "Step onto this chair? Yes." (starts wiping) See? It's fine. I've got the spot."
soobin: "Congratulations. But you missed a spot."
y/n: "What? Where?"
soobin: "Here."
y/n: "Ah. Okay, I've got it."
soobin: "Okay. But make sure not to lean too much."
y/n: "I'm not."
soobin: "You're leaning."
y/n: "I'm not."
soobin: "You literally could fall off the chair!"
y/n: "Soobin, I won't!"
soobin: "You..." (sighs) "Here."
(silence)
y/n: "What are you doing?"
soobin: "I'm just holding on."
y/n: "...to me."
soobin: "Yeah. To make sure you don't fall."
y/n: "Right." (continues wiping) "I've got it. You can let go now."
soobin: "Come down first."
y/n: (rolls eyes) "Fine." (hops down) "See? I didn't fall."
soobin: "Because of me."
y/n: "Excuse me, but I have great balance. I would never fall for you."
(long silence)
soobin: "Huh?"
y/n: "I-I mean, I would never fall, period, even if you were holding on to me or not."
soobin: "Oh. Right. That's what I thought you said."
y/n: "Because I said it."
soobin: "You did."
y/n: "Yep."
hueningkai: (whispers) "Mom, can I go back now--"
mrs. kai: (whispers) "Shush! Don't ruin their moment!"
