dad: "I just wanted to have a chat. There's nothing wrong."
y/n: "Okay..."

dad: "But just know that, as someone who's watched you grow up, I am also very protective of you. If you ever need my help, I'm here for you."
y/n: (nods slowly) "This talk is kind of scaring me..."
dad: "Are you dating someone?"
y/n: "What?"
dad: "Is it Kai?"
y/n: "Kai??? No. Ew. He's my best friend, Dad. Nothing more."
dad: "What about that other boy? The giant."
y/n: "The tall one, you mean. Soobin. No, we're not dating."
dad: "Okay, okay. I just wanted to check in. Because if you're dating, that's..." (clears throat) "I mean, you've dated before. But I just want to make sure that it doesn't end up like..."

dad: "Exactly. I know we don't talk about it."
y/n: "Mom talks about it. Actually, she doesn't talk about it and that in itself is talking about it."
dad: "Honey... I know she can be a lot sometimes but at the end of the day, she just wants the best for you."
y/n: "I've always tried to remind myself that but it's getting harder the older I get."
dad: "Just be patient with her. Don't forget, she's your mother."
y/n: "Of course. I know."
dad: "And college is coming up... just around the corner."
y/n: "I know."
dad: "If you need help with applications, we can sit down and do them together. You're not alone. Okay?"
y/n: "I'm still wondering what to major in."
dad: "That's okay. Take your time."
y/n: "Dad?"
dad: "Mhm?"
