a story in which Will glows a bit in the dark-

children of apollo, since they r children of the sun, need light when it's dark (they do it naturally)

so they make their own light

Nico POV

I shot up from my sleep for the third time tonight.

I wiped the sweat off my forehead and quickly look around just to see the interior of the Hades cabin.

It's just another nightmare Nico, I think to myself, you're not back in Tartarus.

I take a few deep breaths to try and slow my racing heartbeat. I got up to wash my face.

At least I didn't scream this time and wake anyone up-

As soon as I thought this, I heard a knock on my door. I quickly wiped my face and walked over to answer my late night visitor. I open to door to see my boyfriend, Will Solace, standing there holding a pillow.

"What are you doing here Sunshine?" I asked him.

"Umm, well," he hesitated and stared at his bunny slippers. Of course he has bunny slippers. I smiled a little bit.

Will finally responded, "Two reasons really, one is that I couldn't sleep, and the second is that I wanted to check in on you."

He looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes of his. The moonlight seemed to reflect off his hair, making it glow and highlight his face. He frowned and lifted his hand to my forehead.
"You're freezing cold and you're sweating." He brushed a piece of hair out of my face. "What happened?"
I let him inside my cabin.

We sat down on my bed. He threw his pillow behind him and turned to me, grabbing my hand. "You can tell me if you want"

I looked at him and I felt my eyes brimming up with tears. I blinked and looked away.
He reached over and tilted my head towards him.
"Hey hey hey, it's ok now. You're safe. You're here with me."

I reached over to caress his face with my hands.
I leaned over to kiss him lightly. As I pull away, I whisper to him, "I love you."

He looked surprised, since he usually says it to me but I wasn't ready to say it back.

"I love you too."

I smiled sadly.
He asked what was wrong again.

I told him that I had another nightmare. Told him that I couldn't sleep anymore because of the fear of being back in that place.

He came closer to me and wrapped his arms around me. I was startled at his sudden movement, but I hugged him back.

He got up after I calmed down to leave, but I stopped him.

"Hey Will?"

He turned around. "Yes?"

I looked down, slightly embarrassed.

"Can you stay with me?"

He was confused, since this isn't something I would ask if it wasn't really important.

"Sure thing Neeks"

At this point I realised that my lights were off, but I wasn't afraid.
I looked back at Will. We were inside but there was still light around him.

He realised that I was staring and I looked away, blushing.

He explained that it was an Apollo kid thing and he just naturally glowed.
I laughed.

His face immediately turned bright red.

"What's wrong?"

"You're just so fucking adorable Nico."

I winced at the sudden cursing.
I mean, I'm used to it now, but living in the 30s rubbed off on me.

He walked back over to me.
He looked at me and smiled sheepishly.
"So... where do I sleep?"

My face flushed.

"O-oh I forgot about that"
Dammit Nico you're not going to sleep together in that definition.
Gods.

"You can go on the couch I guess"
He nodded and set his stuff up on the couch.
I gave him a few blankets and climbed back into my own bed.

After a bit, I fell asleep just to be woken up again by yet another nightmare. I screamed and sat up straight.

I see Will in the corner shoot up and rush over to my side.

My breathing is heavy and I don't really know where I am until Will holds me close to him.
He just holds me and tells me I'm safe until I calm down.

"shhhh it's okay I'm here."

I wrap my arms around him and bury my head in the crook of his neck.

I quietly cry into his shirt as he rubs circles onto my back. He kissed my face and just held me close.

For the first time in months I feel safe. At home. He lays next to me and I just stay close to him.

I can feel his warmth and feel comfortable for once.

I close my eyes and soon I can hear his heartbeat and breathing slow down.

He fell asleep.

I kiss him on the cheek one last time before I drifted off, nightmare free.

~skip till morning~

I wake up to arms around my waist and feeling light kisses on my face.

"Wakey wakey sunshine."

I groan and roll over to see Will looking down at me.

I smile and laugh.

"I didn't have any nightmares Will."

He kisses me. "That's wonderful to hear. Now, get up so we can eat breakfast."

From that day forward, Will sleeps in the Hades cabin and Nico never had another nightmare again.
