"...I just miss you." Ethan says over the phone. "When do you come back again?"
"I arrive at the airport Saturday morning, I was actually wondering if you could pick me up and we can have breakfast at The Breakfast Club?" I say from my laying down position on the bed.
I hear him intake a sharp breath. "Actually,"
"What?" I sit up. "Don't tell me you're gonna bail on me."
"I just had a lot of work stacked up throughout the week I didn't get to finish, it'll just be for a few hours."
"Ethan," I groan.
"I know, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you though I promise. How about I take you on a nice fancy dinner when you get back?" I was no longer in the mood, but it appeared as though he was trying.
"Fine." I say. I hear him chuckle on his end before I hear shuffling.
"I'll call you later okay? I've got an early day tomorrow. I love you."
"Love you too." I say before hanging up. I groan as I lay back down on the bed. It had been hours since I last saw Harry, I wasn't sure if he was even here.
Judging by the silence, I'm leaning towards me being alone.
I exit the guest room, wrapping the soft blanket around me before reaching the kitchen and going towards the fridge, hoping to find something to eat but when I open the door, I am greeted by a half empty box of salad, a half eaten banana and loads of Fiji water bottles.
"What kind of famous person doesn't have food in their fridge?" I comment as I close it back, sighing as my stomach growled in hunger. I could order food, but I wouldn't want to give away Harry's address so I decide against it for his safety and privacy.
Maybe I should just sleep it off and wait until Harry came back, and god knows how long that'll be.
I turn on the tv, putting the volume to 20 so that I wouldn't be in complete silence before I cuddled up on the couch, pulling a pillow in between my arms and legs for comfort and without realizing, I fell into a quick slumber.
-
"She was the one who wanted the break." Harry mumbles as he chews lazily on the popcorn. He was in a blue robe with his feet propped up on the coffee table.
"Do not even go there. It hadn't even been a full day, that does not count." I fight back, pausing Friends.
"Does it matter?" He scrunched an eyebrow.
"Um, yes!"
"Okay, would you still say the same if it were the other way around?"
"Of course I would! It goes both ways, it has to be a full day before it's considered a break!"
"But they were!"
"Harry, oh my God!" My hands go to my temples, rubbing furiously. "It. Doesn't. Matter." I groan in annoyance, causing Harry to throw his head back in laughter.
"I love it." He says, chuckling.
"Love pissing me off? Because that's the only thing you're successful at." I grit.
"I love messing with you, and I definitely enjoy seeing your little nostrils flare when you get angry." He says making me throw a pillow at him.
"It wasn't a break, it was merely a few minutes apart before Ross went around sticking his thing in that girls business." I retort, grabbing back the pillow from Harry.
"Whatever you say." Harry rolls his eyes in a playful manor. I hadn't noticed how close we were to each other until our knees touched as I moved around on the couch.
Harry's attention seemed to linger on me for longer than they usually do making my stomach drop and before I knew it, my legs were on either side of his hips as I straddled him.
Without another word, his hands pushed my face to his making our lips -
My body jolts up from my laying down position, my head making contact with something hard before a pained groan had me looking towards the direction of the noise where I saw Harry standing, a hand to his bottom lip.
"You busted my lip!" He cries, running to the bathroom.
What the hell was that.
I shake the remanence of the uncomfortable dream as I quickly stand up, my head throbbing with pain while following Harry into the bathroom.
"What the hell were you doing?" I exclaim, rubbing at my forehead. He stood in front of the mirror, examining his bleeding lip.
"I have a meeting on a FaceTime call in a few hours and you busted my lip!"
"Harry." I warn. He looks at me through the mirror. "Were you watching me sleep?"
"As if." He mocks.
"Then what were you doing there?" I cross my arms. "And for how long?"
I can tell he tries to smirk but fails as he grabs his lip again. "I just got back and I heard you talking and I thought you were on the phone with Ethan."
"Why would you think that?"
"Well, it seemed like you were having a good time if you know what I mean." He says cheekily making me stand up straight as my arms fall at my sides.
"W-what?"
"I tried to eavesdrop a little, and then I realized you were sleeping so I definitely had to see."
"You are a sick person." I scoff.
"I didn't know you swinged that way to be honest." He says, walking past me.
"What does that mean?" I ask as I follow suit and watched as he took out a water bottle before pressing it to his lip.
"Oh, Mary yes!" He moans making my cheeks grow hot. "You were dry humping my pillow as well, which you can keep now by the way."
"No I wasn't!" I defend, God please let him be lying.
"Who's this Mary?" He ignores me.
"If you think I, a woman who's not only straight, but will be getting married in no less than a month would cheat on her Fiancée with a woman, in a place where I know absolutely no one -"
"I mean, you never know. What else are you hiding from me? Do you have a secret penis too?"
"You're an idiot." I mutter as I walk away. I couldn't look at his face any longer - what the hell was that dream? It was like dreaming of your brother and I felt like I needed to bathe myself ten times before lighting myself on fire.
"Oh, by the way," Harry says, appearing from the hallway to the rooms. "I think Kendall wants to give me another chance."
"Really? That's great!" I smile. He nods, putting his hands inside his jean pockets.
"You think?"
"Yeah!" I say, picking his arm. "I'm glad you guys are working it out, I don't have to feel so horrible about breaking you guys up."
"It wasn't your fault," Harry chuckles. "The thing is, I'm not entirely sure."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, she kind of made me promise her something I really don't want to promise." He furrows his eyebrows. "Maybe It's not right for me to get back with her."
"If you don't do it, I will feel horrible again. Do you want me to feel bad about myself for ruining your relationship? Do you? Because that would make you a really shitty best friend. I might have to find another." I joke but he doesn't laugh, he only purses his lips and sighs.
"I'll take my chances," he shrugs.
"Oh come on, what could you possibly have to promise her that's so bad? Is it couple counseling?"
"Worse," he runs a hand through his hair. "You know what? I think I'll have to think this over night, I'll drive you to the airport in the morning." He says and without another word, he disappears into his room.
