"You're kidding." Harry says as we sit around in a table in the corner drinking some coffee. It was my break and he decided to just stay here for the meantime. There was a couple of girls coming up to him from time to time asking for pictures or an autograph, in which Harry kindly gave it to them.
"Nope." I drink from my cup. "He said so himself. He said that if he and I weren't together, he'd think something was going on between you and I." I scrunch my face while Harry does the same.
"But he knows we've been best friends since we were kids, right? I mean we know each other's darkest secrets."
"Of course he does, and what dark secrets do you have about me?" I raise my eyebrow making him lean back on the chair with a smirk.
"If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret."
"Well if it's about me, and you're keeping my darkest secrets, don't you think I should know?" I cross my arms making him shake his head childishly.
"Of course not, that's kind of how secrets work. You don't tell them to anyone, even if the person who's secret it is wants to know." He smirks and drinks his coffee.
"Well," I shrug, hiding my smirk behind my mug. "I've told yours."
"Really? What's my secret then?"
"Well, like you said. Secrets aren't things to be told. But just for my sake of entertainment of watching the horror on your face, I've told my friends the time that you wiped your boogers on my party dress. Oh and also, when you get too full of yourself, I just remember you as the kid who once peed on the snow, trying to write your name."
"Okay, first of all - I was sick, and second of all, everyone with a dick was doing that then. So it wasn't really uncommon."
"You're sick." I scrunch my face making him stick his tongue out at me. "How cute." I roll my eyes.
"So, you're really getting married, huh?" He asks after a while, making everything go serious.
"Yeah, I guess so." I say, looking down at my cup. "It just feels like the right time, you know? I'm 24, my mum says it's too young but you know, I just have the sense that she doesn't like Ethan over all."
"The guy doesn't really give out a "I'm a trustworthy man" vibe. Just from looking at him you can tell he's an ass."
"He's really not, to me at least. He's great."
"I don't mean to bring this up, but need I remind you that he cheated on you right in front of your face?" He says making me sink back into my chair.
"I know," I breathe out. "And you know sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. I love him, and I have no doubt in my mind that he loves me. I mean, he was willing to marry me even after everything. But I don't know, I'm just tired of being alone. It's nice to want to belong to somebody, you know?"
All Harry does is shift on his chair and stir his spoon in his coffee. I knew Harry didn't like Ethan for what he did to me, but that was in the past. I know it's not an excuse because it still happened, but things feel right with Ethan.
"So then I'm guessing there's no point in asking if you're happy with him?" Harry says after a while.
I smile. "I am."
