It's a few hours later. Rose stands in John's room:' Sam thinks he can talk to his brother with a board game?'
'Yes, he's probably trying it out.' John gets up from the bed fully dressed: 'They may think I'm not doing anything, but that's not true.'
Rose nods: 'But what are you going to do?' She knows it's something dangerous.
'Don't judge me. He is my son.' He takes a duffel from under his bed.
Rose looks at what's in it: 'You're going to get yourself killed with that deal? You already know.' She sits on his bed: 'If you want to do it, I know I cannot stop you. You thought it through? You're sure?'
'I am doing this. It's my son. I don't need to know anything more.'
'I know.' She says: 'How strange as it sounds, I'll miss you.'
'Yeah, it does sound strange.' John looks at her: 'You're going to keep an eye on my sons? Make sure that they're fine.'
'They're hunters. The chances they get hurt....' She looks in the direction she knows both brothers are.
'You have to keep your promise.' He says, firm.
She nods: 'I'll do everything possible to keep them safe.'
'I know.' He whispers.
Dean survives. John didn't get any time from the demon. Rose tries to keep her promise. After Dean woke up, Sam drove them towards a friend of John called Bobby. She heard about him but never met the man.
That week she kept a safe distance. They don't know she's there, keeping an eye on them. What would she do? They don't know her. How can they trust her?
Their fathers' dead ways on them. Dean works silently on his car while Sam tries to talk to him. It feels wrong to watch them while they don't know about it.
When the week is over, they have a new focus and a place to go. It's a place where hunters meet. She knows the bar and decides to stay out of sight, as far away as possible. She'll know when they leave. She assumes the brothers are safe there.
'I did the usual, the bar, and later, I went to a club. Another one this time. Why are you calling again?' Damon tells her over the phone.
'Do I need a reason?' Rose asks and looks down from the roof; she sees Dean and Sam working their new jobs in the circus.
'No, but you don't call unless you want something.'
'Ok, I give in. I'm bored. They're finally on a hunt, and still, nothing interesting happens. Can you believe it?'
'Isn't that weird watching out for them?'
'Why?' She asks him, sits down and crosses her legs.
'The oldest; you said he looked like Richard.'
'Don't say his name.' She snaps: 'He could be his twin, no, even more, they're identical. It freaks me out.'
'So, it does bother you?'
'Of course, it does, Damon!' Why wouldn't it?'
'Maybe it's a stupid question. Why not kill him, be done with it?'
'Damon.' She says, almost shocked.
'I was joking. But I'm right; it would make things easier for you.'
The cases get a little more interesting; Sam apparently has psychic powers. Sometimes he gets a vision. She doesn't know anything more, only what she overheard by accident. There is more; there must be. He isn't the only one; now they are in this town where two brothers appear to have some form of mind control, making people do what they want with just a few chosen words. It almost sounds like compulsion.
