I walked through the crowded street with one thing on my mind. Coffee.
It was a busy Friday morning and in 15 minutes I had to be at work to start my usual shift at the Sydney Sundownder Hotel.
Unfotunatly I think everyone had the same idea that I had, which was to grab a coffee before work. Great.
I was only a few shops away from my favourite coffee shop and in the distance I could see people hurrying out of the shop with their freshly made coffee in their hands.
I could smell the delicate scent of the coffee as I arrived at my destination. Mmm. I loved that smell.
As I pushed open the large chestnut doors of the coffee shop, I could see a huge line up of people. It was busier than usual and I would of been waiting in line for a good 15 minutes, 15 minutes which I didn't have.
Lilly, another regular coffee buyer, walked in and stood beside me. "Chose a great time to grab a coffee hey?" She said as she stared at the line infront of us that clearly wasn't getting any smaller. I sighed. "Unfortunatly yes" I said as we both stood there in silence, listening to whistling sound coming from the coffee machine.
Lilly took a few steps forward towards the line. "Well I might as well wait, I need my coffee fix. Are you going to join the line?" She asked reaching for my hand and pulling me into line. I shook my head. "Sorry Lilly I don't have time, I start my shift shortly." She smiled. "Okay, I'll see you around next week." We both waved and I made my way back outside into the cold winter air.
"I'll get a coffee Monday morning, I'll even wake up earlier if I have to' I said to myself.
I had walked no further than a couple of metres when I felt all my body weight plunge into a tall figure who had been walking past. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to bump into you, I'm just in a hurry an..." I took a step back to get a good look at who I had bumped into and froze.
The victim of my clumsyness had been a boy 2 years older than me with light brown curly hair and hazel eyes, He loomed over me and wore a white ripped t-shirt with the words 'smells like teen spirit' printed in black with black skinny jeans and black converse. I was well aware of who he is was, although this was the first time I had ever come face to face with him. Standing infront of me was Ashton Irwin.
He had no idea who I was so he had a puzzled look on his face. "Sorry about that" I said finally gaining the courage to speak. He smiled. "Hey it's fine, don't worry about it" by now I was blushing like crazy.
I glanced down at my watch. Shit.
"I'm running late for work but I hope you have a nice day" I said as I turned around and starting jogging to work.
Throughout the entire day all I could think about was Ashton. Good one Holly I said to myself each and everytime that encounter popped up in my head. I felt like a complete idiot for being so clumsy.
Before I knew it my shift was over and I was on my way home after a long day.
