It had been a week since Cleo had been back and I had arranged for the boys to come over and have a few drinks. Cleo was excited about this. Not only did she have this plan in her head that she could somehow get Ashton and I together but she also found Calum cute. Cleo was flirtatious and over confident so I had no doubt that she'd have any problems talking to Calum but I wanted to avoid the Ashton situation as much as possible. But I knew that was highly unlikly, considering it was Cleo and Cleo was stubborn and wouldn't listen to me unless I gave her a good enough explination. Lets just say that I tried but failed.
"They're here!" Cleo yelled as she raced to the door. 'God, she's more excited about this than I am' I thought to myself.
As Cleo opened the door, all four boys stood there with grins on their faces. "You remember Cleo?" I asked as they all walked in. They nodded and greeted Cleo with a hug as they walked past. Luke was the first one to hug me. He raced over to me and wrapped his arms around me tightly. He felt warm and smelt good. Michael stood behind Luke inpatiently. "Excuse me" he said clearing his throat. Luke stepped away and Michael was next to nearly squeeze me to death.
Ashton and Calum were too busy talking to Cleo so I decided to make my way to the kitchen and Luke and Michael followed. "Drinks?" They nodded and I handed then two bottles of beer.
The sun had already started to go down and it was nearly 6:39. Calum and Cleo were still talking and Ashton had dissapeared into the backyard with Luke, so I was stuck here with Michael. Michael was onto his 4th beer, so as he spoke I could smell the strong scent of liqour. "So you and Ashton hey?" He asked winking. "There's nothing going on, you're like one of his bestfriends.. you should know that?"
Michael gave me a puzzled look.
"If you expect me to believe you when you say that there's nothing going on, well I'm not buying it." He finally spoke.
I took a deep breath and sighed.
"He did tell you what he told me right?" I asked.
"What that it could never work because he travels too much? Yeah he told me." Michael answered.
Cleo at this point gave me a stare that looked as if she was trying to say 'listen to him.' I knew that she had been listening in on the conversation.
"Yeah well that is why there is nothing going on between us!" I said almost shouting.
Michael laughed. "There's something going on and both you and Ash know it, you guys can't keep ignoring each other or pretending that you don't have feelings for each other when you do" Michael said. "Besides, Ashton hasn't been able to shut up about you" he added.
Just as Michael finished talking Ashton and Luke reappered and Ashton had a weird look on his face. 'Please do not tell me that he heard any of that' I thought to myself as he approached us.
"Holly?"
"Yes Ashton?"
"Can we go somewhere to talk?" He asked. I nodded and led him up to my room. I could feel everyone staring at us as we walked up the stairs. I almost felt sick, and I was getting a bad case of butterflies. What did Ashton want to talk to me about?
We entered my room and I closed the door behind us.
Ashton walked over to my bed and sat down. I walked over and sat down next to him. We were no more than a few meters apart and I could feel the tension between us. "Holly?"
"Yes Ash?"
He took a deep breath. "I'm going to honest with you. You are all Iv been able to think about and no matter how much I try and hide it, I can't hide these feelings I have towards you" he spoke.
Before I could even say anything, I felt his warm hand glide across my cheek as his eyes closed and leant in to kiss me. Our lips connected and it felt nice, they moved slowly together and with my free hand, I started stroking Ashton's hair as we kissed. I slowly broke from the kiss and smiled.
"I can't hide these feelings I have towards you either" I spoke softly before our lips reconnected.
Holding hands, Ashton and I rose from my bed and started walking down the stairs. Our fingers were intertwined.
Not one person said a single word as we walked past. Cleo just smiled at me as we walked past.
Ashton and I sat down outside on the grass.
"So what are we?" I asked.
"I don't know" he replied. "I'm still trying to figure that one out, I do travel alot and.."
He looked down at his feet. "Hopefully one day we can be something more than just this" he finished.
I nodded. "I understand."
We continued to sit outside for an hour, talking about anything that crossed our mind.
So we weren't something but we both felt the same way. 'Man this sucks' I thought to myself.
I so desperatly wanted to be with Ashton, but at this point I wasn't sure if that would ever happen.
