Luke had managed to save the front seat for me, so the ride back to Ashton's wasn't that bad. I remained quiet the whole 40 minutes that we were are on the road and Luke could see that there was something wrong. Although I hadn't known Luke for long either, Luke and I had got along straight away. I already trusted him and we had become good friends. If anyone had mentioned to me a month back that any of this would of happened I would of told them that they were full of shit, because honestly it's not everyday that something like this happens. It wasn't every day that a fan becomes friends with their idols or even develops real feelings for them. Not a little celebrity crush, but actual feelings.
Luke glanced over at me and mouthed the words "are you okay?" Before he turned his head back around to give his full attention to the road infront of him. I nodded and smiled back.
I wasn't exactly cut up about the fact that there would never be anything real between Ashton and I, but I wasn't in the best mood either.
"Here" said Luke as we pulled up at the front of Ashton's place. We both jumped out and waved the other boys goodbye.
Just as I had expected, Ashton and I didn't say a word to each other as we made our way inside.
Ashton's mum wasn't home and we had to use the spare key located under the door mat to get inside.
"I don't bite you know" Ashton finally spoke, breaking the long bitter silence between us. "What?" I asked.
"Don't pretend like you didn't hear what I said, you haven't spoke to me since this morning and you've been avoiding me all day."
Ashton didn't look mad, he just looked frustrated. I shook my head. "Nothing's wrong, I just haven't been in a very talketive mood, I'm sorry." He nodded, but didn't seem satisfied with my answer. "Holly. Seriously, you can tell me." He paused. "It's about what I said this morning isn't it?" He finished.
I said nothing. He sighed. "Holly.. come with me. Please?" He held out his hand and once I had finally grabbed hold of his hand, he led me down the hallway and into his room.
He sat me down on his bed and stared deep into my eyes. "Holly." I took a deep breath. "Yes Ashton?"
He grabbed both of my hands and squeezed them tightly. "You are a beautiful girl, and Id be lying if I told you I wasn't the slightest bit attracted to you, but.." he paused. "But what I'm trying to say is I want us to become close, like really good friends. We can spend time together, and you can hang out with me and boys when we are in Australia, honestly I do like spending time with you. But I travel alot, and well..." I cut him off. "Ashton, you don't have to explain this to me... I know, it's okay. We can be good friends" I finished with a smile.
I guess I hadn't really thought about it till now. The more I thought about my chances with Ashton, the more I realised it could never happen. Even if he really was attracted to me, he had a point. But I guess the thought of being close to Ashton still made me smile. I did enjoy every minute we spent together.
AN: Sorry for the short and boring chapter, I just had to fill in some stuff before the next chapter!
