I drift back into reality, shadows and silhouettes of blurred people standing over me. Random images float into my mind, fragments of memories being pieced back together. A sharp kick to my stomach. Me creasing to the floor. The boy who saved me.
I'm looking at everything through a low resolution camera, little things blurring into one massive smudge on a screen.
I'm constantly battling an overwhelming darkness, tugging at my eyelids, encouraging them to close one last time.
I need to find the boy. He saved me. The only fact that my delirious mind can grasp onto is that he saved me. He's my hero. Did I know him? Was he my boyfriend?
The warm, cosy darkness beckons me again, promising comfort and sweet dreams, a haven where I can rejuvenate. This time I give in, letting the wave of black wash over my achy body.
