After spending most of the morning in our bed Elijah and I got up and made breakfast. In the kitchen I noticed a window that was in a peculiar spot. I walked over to it and looked out.
There I saw Syf. The planet that hangs low in our sky. It was in perfect alignment with our moons and it all created a picturesque scene with the Nebula Ocean in the background.
"Elijah did you do this on purpose?" I questioned him.
Elijah walked out of the bathroom and looked at the window.
"Yep. And looks like its working so far." He smiled at me.
I rolled my eyes and began working on our breakfast, but I couldn't keep a smile off my face. I decided to make buttermilk biscuits because we always seem to eat pancakes and I wanted to change it up a little bit.
"Lorelei what are you making?"
"You'll see." I smirked at him.
"Well if it tastes half as good as it smells I will be happy."
"Flirt." I whispered under my breath.
"I heard that Lore." he called out to me.
"Well maybe I wanted you to hear it."
Elijah laughed. I couldn't help but smile a little too. As soon as our biscuits were a perfect golden brown I pulled them out of the oven and set them in front of me and Elijah.
"Lorelei, you are so good at baking. I don't know why I even try to match your skill." Elijah bit into his biscuit.
I bit into mine and it was surprisingly really good. Like actually really good. I smiled as I pretty much devoured the rest of the biscuit. It actually tasted amazing.
"Can we go swimming again today?" Elijah asked me.
"No duh. I only got in there for a few minutes yesterday and that was to drag your butt out of the water."
Elijah gave me his signature smile and the room brightened a bit. I'm not sure if I'm even imagining it. Elijah tells me when I smile I brighten the room but I think Elijah actually brightens the room with his smiles.
I looked around the room and sure enough there were less shadows. Interesting.
"What are you looking at?" Elijah asked me as my eyes continued to scan the room.
"I'm testing a theory."
"What kind of theory?" He looked intrigued.
"That your smiles actually light up the room."
"Come on Lorelei, there is no way my smile lights up a room." Elijah laughs a little.
"No I'm not joking." I insist, "I swear the room gets brighter."
"Is it some kind of special Bright power that I have." Elijah teased.
"Well you glow for one, is it that far of a leap to assume your smiles light up a room as well?"
"I guess not." Elijah actually takes me into consideration.
"I wonder if our child could light up a room."
"Elijah we have been married for what, one day? And you are already talking about children?" I laughed.
"It's a possibility. Plus I was talking about the future."
"The far future." I mumbled.
"What, you don't want to have a mini me running around our apartment?" Elijah teased.
