I was exhausted after the last two weeks I have had. Mentally, Physically and Emotionally. It's been rough. I was just done and so when the door opened again I moaned out of pure agony of what they were going to do next.
Although the Brights that opened my door did something that I can't wrap my head around. I could understand them torturing but instead they brought me a meal. If I wasn't so freaking exhausted I could probably understand why they did such a thing but I was on the brink of becoming nonfunctional.
The Bright who was in my room had a slight face and looked scared. I studied the features in her face because I couldn't do anything else. She only appeared to be 12 but is most likely hundreds of years older than me but still she looked pitiful and I began to feel sympathetic. She set the tray of food down on the floor next to me quickly and quietly as if the slightest noise would cause me to attack and break her.
"What are you doing here?" I croaked.
My voice was sore and recognizable. It was so quiet from hours of tormented screaming. Although it probably sounded better than I looked. If I looked half as bad as I feel then this Bright in front of me definitely has a right to be scared.
The Bright never answered me. She just sort of looked at me for a minute and then her eyes flitted away from me. She looked even more frightened than she was before and promptly began to exit.
"Are you trying to poison me?" I called out to her.
"No. I'm just doing my job." She kept her eyes down as she avoided my eyes.
There was a 90% chance that this food was poisoned but I needed relief even if it brought more pain later or even my death. Although that wouldn't make sense. If they were trying to kill me, why would they do it now and not two weeks ago. I know Alexandra wants to kill me but if she did, why wouldn't she just use the plague they constructed before.
I dug in and ate fast. Before long the plate was empty and my stomach felt full for the first time in two weeks. Although the comforting ache that told me my stomach was full began to get sour. It started getting painful and before long I began feeling sick. My stomach was hurting but that made no sense because shouldn't I be feeling more symptoms?
Before long I was keeling over the small toilet vomiting my guts out. Although then the oddest thing happened. My stomach stopped hurting and I felt completely fine. I felt better than fine, I felt the best I had in weeks.
I don't believe I had been poisoned at all. How odd. In about an hour the little girl came back in and took in the foul smell of my room and wrinkled her nose. She spotted me in the corner and lifted her arm towards me.
I took her hand and she pulled me up with ease, as if I was only five pounds. She unlocked my door and began pulling me along the hallway. I began stumbling down the hallway from the lack of energy within me. Within the minute I blacked out and the Bright was carrying me/dragging me to wherever we were going.
When I came to, my head was pounding and my first thought was that I was wrong, they did poison me.
When I opened my eyes the lights blinded me and I suddenly got nauseous and leaned over and threw up. Someone in the room squealed and ran over.
I opened my eyes because I thought for a split second that it was Alivia here to save me. However I was wrong and it was just the Bright who was sad because she had to go clean up another mess. When the Bright was done cleaning up she turned to me and pulled me off the bed I was laying on.
"What are we doing?" I asked as my head was still pounding.
The Bright handed me a glass of what appeared to be water and I was more confused. I began sipping it slightly and I was overjoyed to know that it was water.
