It was kind of late in the night when I woke up to a noise in our apartment. I had never been a heavy sleeper so I constantly woke up in the night and just assumed that this was like all the other times. Sometimes Elijah wakes up when I do but most of the time he doesn't so I just sort of sat in bed before feeling the familiar pull of sleep threatening to pull me under again.

I was just about to close my eyes again when I heard a thud. My breathing shallow and my heartbeat picked up. Elijah rolled over and groaned as he slowly stirred in his sleep. I put my hand over his mouth to quiet him a little. Another thud and my head whipped toward the sound. It seemed closer than before.

Was it possible that someone was in the apartment? It couldn't be possible, we had security guards for a reason. I kept my hand over Elijah's mouth to keep him quiet but shook him to get him up. He groaned and I hoped my hand had stifled it enough so that our intruder didn't hear.

"What is it Lore?" Elijah asked taking in my panicked state.

I put my pointer finger to my lips and pointed to our bedroom door. Elijah looked slightly confused but listened to the quiet room before us. Elijah turned to me once again.

"Lorelei, I think your imagination is getting to you again. There is no one in the house."

I violently shook my head to tell him that he was wrong, the noise couldn't have been just my imagination. Elijah could see that I was visibly freaked out so he wrapped me in his arms and fell back to sleep. With my husband sleeping soundly beneath my I felt exhausted. I needed sleep but I just couldn't find it.

I just laid there with my eyes wide open, listening. Maybe Elijah was right, Maybe this was just my anxiety getting to me again. We are surrounded by hundreds of people. However I heard the noises again, that made me sure that this was real.

I eventually fell asleep. I didn't know when but it definitely happened. I woke up before I opened my eyes. I was in a weird sort of daze like I was half asleep and half not sleeping. Our bedroom was cold in the morning and so without opening my eyes I searched for Elijah to cuddle up next to him because I didn't want to get up to adjust the temperature.

I searched for Elijah but couldn't find him. I opened my eyes and screamed. I looked around and I most definitely wasn't in my bedroom anymore. I was handcuffed to a twin sized bed in a small square room.

I was so alarmed I didn't hear the steady beeping that was gradually getting faster as my breathing became more hitched and shallow.

"Elijah!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

When I got no reply I curled myself into a small ball on the tiny, hospital sized bed I was sitting on. When I finally got ahold of myself I scanned the room. A heart monitor was attached to my finger and an IV was injected into my arm.

Other than the medical equipment there was a single chair in the right corner of the room. With nothing better to do while chained to the bed, I drifted off to sleep once again.

I wasn't in a deep sleep, more like a doze so when the door opened I immediately opened my eyes. Inside stepped an Extorian.

"Not again." I muttered.

The Bright looked at her clipboard.

"Ms Lorelei Jameson?" She asked in a strange accent.

"Mrs, actually." I corrected.

The Extorian didn't seem to much care for my mood.

"Do you know why you are here?" She asked.

"How could I know when no one had told me anything?" I asked innocently.
