Chapter 36 : Unidentified Culprit

Platinum Room. Afternoon.

"Did you see Eun Hee?! She looked really different! I almost didn't recognize her back there!" exclaims Sehun, throwing a small fit of tantrum with a little excitement in his tone. Suho ponders for a bit, speaking out after seconds. "Hmm, for her to transform like that all so suddenly, and with a big impact.. it must be the work of Chanyeol."

Kris lets out a big sigh, "He must be plotting something again using Eun Hee as bait. You going to purposely fall for it, Jongin?" Everyone in the room trace their attention to Kai, who was looking a bit plain and solemn than usual. "Jongin?" said Suho, snapping his fingers noisily.

Luhan makes a hasty abrupt to Suho's finger snapping, "Don't bombard him with questions. Jongin, as of now, is still tired from all the things happening, especially with what happened to Krystal. So please, stop it, all of you." The room falls silent for a moment till Krystal arrived inside, playing locks of her hair back down her curvy body with a frustrated look on her face.

She falls flat down her grand chair, slamming things out of the way as she gnash her teeth. Sehun clears his throat, placing his head down the table to avoid any trouble. "Jongin! That peasant girl tried to hurt me again! She--" "You don't have to paint your words, Krystal. News travel very fast nowadays in the campus." Kai shoots her a gaze, "She challenged you on the final exam, and if you were to lose, then you'd have to wear farm clothes for the rest of the week."

Krystal displays a flustered look. "W-Well!? Aren't you going to do something about it, Jongin? I am your Platinum after all! And according to the book, it says that no matter what danger the Platinum is, you must be responsible to protect her at all times! Do something!" Kai pours himself a glass of cold water, shrugging her aggressive attitude.

As he gulps down the last drop of water, he responds with a rough stare. "I don't have any right to butt in the Platinum's bets, deals or whatsoever. It is your choice what you want to do, especially with the challenge that everyone knows of, it's best if you do it yourself since you'd be displaying a highly embarrassing act of cowardice as the Platinum if you cover yourself with me. Besides, if you think you are confident of being the only Platinum, then do whatever means to beat her."

Kai pulls himself up the chair, "Now if you will excuse me. I'll be taking a nap in the Botanical Garden for the rest of the afternoon." He pats Kris on the shoulder, "You take charge while I'm gone, okay?" "Okay." said Kris in response. Luhan darts Krystal a short look before proceeding out behind Kai.

Meanwhile. Library. Eun Hee's POV.

"Here you go, Eun Hee. I hope you learn lots while you're in here. Bye!" The male student rush to follow behind his friends, smiling like a fool as they jab and tease him in delight. Xiumin throws his pencil down his upper lip, forming a frown as he consequently lets out a brief sigh. Chen shows worry, looking at Xiumin who continues to balance a pencil on his upper lip.

Chen slaps his head from behind, "What are you doing spacing out, huh? And what's with you sighing for the nth time today? Is there something you aren't telling us?" Xiumin crosses his arms like a spoiled brat, painting a sour look. "Ever since Eun Hee became so beautiful, it seems everyone wants to be her friend all of a sudden! Even the higher batch silver students are hitting on her!"

I paint an astonished look, melting into a sweet and thoughtful expression. "Aww, Xiumin. I didn't know you felt that way. I'm sorry." Xiumin shakes his head, pouting even more. "It's fine. It's just that, I don't want to share Eun Hee-yah to everyone! They didn't notice you from the beginning, so they don't have the right to notice you right now!--!" "Mr. Kim! You are disrupting the sanctity of the holy library! Please step out of the library at once!" said the assistant librarian, taking her usual stroll with a cup of cocoa on her hand.
