Elsa's P.O.V.
It is 8:03 pm. Asher is asleep, and I'm pretty sure Hiccup is in the living room. I don't know if he's awake or not. I set down the baby bag by the stairs, then go into the living room. Hiccup was in there. He looked to be asleep. Toothless was asleep on the end of the couch sleeping. Hiccup didn't have his prosthetic on again. The second time I've seen him without it. He must not like it, all the time. Understandable I go to him slowly, gently hitting him with a pillow. He grunted, snapping awake. "What?"
"Were you sleeping?" I ask him.
"Sorta."
"Sorry," I sigh sarcastically, then sit down on the end of the couch. He sighed himself. This whole thing with his father is really bugging him. I sorta feel bad. Hiccup never really had his father around in his life. I understand that. But Hiccup does have a good point. Asher doesn't need to follow his path. Asher needs his father. Just like Hiccup needs his. "How are you doing?" I ask him.
"All right, I guess."
"You sure?"
He sighed. "No."
"Is it still bugging you."
"Yeah." We were silent for a moment. "My Dad doesn't understand what I went through my who life. He doesn't see it, because he's always too busy." Hiccup started. "And for him to think I need to take on responsibility, I have it. We do have a kid to take care of." I stayed silent, letting Hiccup Just ramble. He's held this in all day. "But..." He sighed then trailed off. "He just doesn't listen."
I sigh. "I'm sure that runs in you're family," I say.
He looked at me. "What does that mean?"
"Well, you don't always listen. So..."
"Whatever," he smirked throwing a pillow at me.
I laugh for a minute as he struggles to sit up. "Maybe you just need to show him. Maybe he wants to believe you're good on your own, but has to see it." I say, standing up.
"That makes no sense whatsoever."
"Look," I start. "He doesn't want or admit that you're... Well... Perfect." I say. "I mean. You have a good family. A good life."
"Elsa no one is perfect."
"I know. But you're successful. He doesn't want to admit that." I say narrowed his eyes.
He sighed then went to sit up a little getting his prosthetic when I sit on his lap, trapping him on the couch. He dropped his prosthetic then grunted. "Really Elsa."
"Yep."
"Why?"
"Because I can."
He just smirked then shifted. I knew I was making him uncomfortable. "I still haven't lost the baby weight," I tell him.
"Nope and that's perfectly fine," He struggled again. "I would stand up right now, but, physically. I can't." He sighed sitting up a little.
"Why not... Oh yeah."
"Yeah." The silence went through us, as he quietly picked up the prosthetic, putting it back on quietly. "But now!" He scared me as he scooped me up in his arms as he stood up. "I've got you."
"Hiccup!" I whine to him.
"Elsa!" He whined playfully.
"Put me down." I say as I hit him on the shoulder.
He looked at me. "Let me think about it... No!" He smirked playfully. I punched his shoulder again. "You doing that is just going to make me drop you." He said to me, as he went up to the stairs slowly.
With that, I clung to him tightly not wanting to fall. As soon as he got upstairs, we both stayed silent, not wanting to wake the baby. He carried me to my room, gently dropping me on my bed.
My body bounced lightly. I then sit up a little. He stood there silently. He looked to the baby then to me. "You should get some rest." He told me as he backed up.
"You should too." I admit.
He slowly raised his hands in defense as he got to the door. "I will, I promise." He said.
"Oh." He started before closing my door. "Your aunt called. She wants you to meet her and Anna at the coffee place." He said. I just nodded as a response. He was about to close the door again then stopped snapping his fingers. "One more thing." He said.
I sighed. "What?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
