Leo put up a good fight in training, he was still learning and still getting better but all of the Knights thought he was really good for his age. It was when he overheard Lancelot and Gwaine talking in the armoury he had to listen to what they were saying. "You and Percival, really?" Lancelot questioned with a grin and nudging his friend in the side. Gwaine blushed lightly.
"Shut up. What do you think Arthur will say?" Gwaine questioned quietly and Lancelot raised an eyebrow. "You really want to know what he would say? Arthur would tell you that he is happy for you and it's about time." Lancelot teased Gwaine and Gwaine chuckled. "How are you and Gwen?" Gwaine asked and Lancelot bit his lip.
"I... We are good. Really good. I want to ask her to marry me but I'm waiting for the right time." Lancelot admitted with a smile and Leo almost squealed from excitement. Everyone was getting together and he was happy for them. Why don't I have anyone? Leo thought as he listened.
"Oh really, I'm so happy for you!" Gwaine said trying not to jump up and down. "I think Arthur will be asking Merlin soon." Gwaine added and Lancelot raised his eyebrows. "I thought it would be Merlin to be the one to ask," Gwaine smirked. "I bet you Arthur will ask Merlin to marry him in the next week!"
Lancelot scoffed unattractively. "Alright, if we are doing it that way. I bet you Merlin will ask Arthur in the next three days!" Leo held in a giggle as the two of them shook hands. "Come on, let's go and ask the others if they want to join in on the bet..." Gwaine said as they walked out of the room.
Leo sighed, leaning his head back. He really did love it in Camelot, but... He missed home. A lot. He wanted to go back to Ealdor. Maybe after the wedding he could go back for a few years? How would he tell Pa?
Meanwhile, Gaius was busy trying to create a potion he had found while reading one of his many several books which was said to make you tell the truth for twenty four hours. As Gaius was doing this Merlin walked out of his room, pacing back and forth. Gaius raised his eyebrows, without looking at Merlin as he spoke.
"What's wrong, Merlin?" Gaius questioned and Merlin bit his lip, still not stopping walking around the room. "I... Gaius... I want to ask Arthur to marry me..." Merlin stuttered out and Gaius faced Merlin, shocked. He wasn't concentrating as something that wasn't meant to go in the cauldron went in, but Gaius didn't notice that.
"Merlin -" Gaius was about to speak but was interrupted by a nervous, rambling Merlin. "I know, I know. Maybe I shouldn't. Why would Arthur want to marry me in the first place? Should I ask or should I wait for him to ask? What if he says no? I -"
"Merlin!" Gaius tried to get Merlin's attention. Merlin continued to ramble on, only stopping when he needed to breath. Merlin bit his lip, giving Gaius a sheepish look. Gaius had his arms folded, with all the patience in the world on his face. Gaius' eyes moved to the bench and Merlin sat down instantly. Gaius joined Merlin on the bench.
"Now, Merlin. What gives you the idea that Arthur would say no? He has been in love with you for a long, long time." Gaius said in his grandfatherly voice, with a smile on his face. Merlin sighed, shrugging. "I don't know... I guess I'm just... Scared." Merlin said and Gaius nodded.
"You wouldn't be normal if you weren't scared, Merlin. Arthur made Magic legal for you Merlin, no one else. He made it so that same sex marriage was legal for you. He has done so much for you, I think you should do something for him." Gaius spoke softly.
