As the door opened again Emma looked up to see the nurse walk in, she had some papers in her hand. "Hello, my name is Lynn, are you the children of Emily Anderson?"

"Yes, I am her daughter, and this is my brother" Emma said as she let go of her brother to face the nurse.

"I am sorry to be meeting you under these circumstances, I have some paperwork for you to look over and sign so that we can get your mother ready to be released to you for her burial. The first few papers are about the treatment we gave her today, then the next one is consent for autopsy, and the last is for the death certificate." The nurse handed Emma the papers to look over and sign.

"Why would you need to do an autopsy I thought the cancer caused her death" Logan said looking at the nurse suspiciously.

"That is the likely cause, but it is the law that one is done to rule out other causes of death." The nurse said in explanation.

Logan looked to Jason to confirm this information and he nodded in agreement with the nurse. When Logan looked back at Emma she was starting to hand back the signed paperwork to the nurse. "When will we be able to go in and see her?" Emma asked as the nurse started to stand.

"If you would like to you can follow me you can have a few minutes with her before the take the to the ME to be examined." As the nurse walked out of the room they got up and followed her, Jason took Emma's hand and led the way.

When the nurse showed them into the room Emma sank in to the chair next to the bed. She reached out to take her mother's hand it was already cold. "Oh, mom I wish I had come sooner. I am going to miss you so much. I promise I will take care of Logan. Please tell Dad that I say hi and I love him." She kissed her mother's forehead as she stood up. She looked at Logan who had unshed tears shining in his eyes.

Logan stood next to the chair his sister just left. "I love you so much mom. You will be happy to know that I passed my test! I wish you could have been there. Give Dad a hug from me when you see him please." He turned and saw Emma looking so lost. He wrapped her in his harms trying to comfort her in the only way he knew how. "She isn't in pain any more Em, she is with Dad and is happy now."

"I know Logan, its still hard though. There is just so much I wish I would have told her." Just then there was a knock on the door. The nurse from before stepped in telling us it was time for them to take her.

"I'm sorry but we need to take her down. In a day or so we will call you to let you know that her body can be released to you. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions, my number is listed on the paperwork that you signed before." As the nurse spoke, they made their way back to the waiting room.

"Thank you so much, if there is anything you need please don't hesitate to call me and I will help in any way that I can." Emma shook the nurse's hand before she turned and walked away.

"Come on baby lets go pick up Evan from our house and get you home I'm sure you are exhausted." Jason took Emma's hand as they walked towards the elevators. When they got out to the parking lot Jason opened the passenger door for Emma and helped her in the car.

Most of the ride to Jason's house was spent in silence, Logan in the back seat playing with is phone and Emma staring out the window as Jason drove. When they arrived without looking away from the window asked "Jason, would you mind grabbing some clothes for you and Evan and staying at the house with Logan and I for the next few days? I understand if you can't, but I think Logan would really like having Evan there with him and I don't really think I can sleep alone right now."

When Emma turned to look at him, he saw the pain and sorrow in her face. "Of course, baby, I will let Evan know. Do you want to come in? I shouldn't be but a few minuets to pack a bag, but you are more than welcome if you want to come in." Jason reached over to tuck a stray hair behind her ear, as he did Emma leaned into his touch.

"Not this time, I just want to close my eyes. Next time I promise." Emma said as she gave him a weak smile. She silently hoping he would understand.

"No problem baby, I will be right back. Logan please stay here with your sister while I go get Evan." Jason leaned over and kissed Emma on the cheek before getting out of the car.

"I hope you don't mind that I asked them to stay." Emma said as she closed her eyes and leaned her head on the window.

"I don't mind Em, Evan pretty much lives at the house most of the time anyway. Jason spends most of the weekends with us at the house, helping with things around the house. The house won't feel so empty with them there. Heck they are never at their house come to think of it they are always at ours." Logan leaned up into the front to seat to look at his sister and noticed that she was sound asleep.
