When Emma went to check on her mother, she found her still sleeping. She stood there looking at her mother lying in the bed. Emma could remember when her mother had so much life in her. Playing outside with her and Logan when they were younger. When she would work in her garden. Remembered when her mother's face had so much joy in it, now it looked sunken in and thin. The Emily Anderson that once was, was no longer Emma thought to herself. Now her face and body where filled with pain rather happiness and joy. It hurt Emma to see her mother in so much pain. She turned away and left the room when she realized there was nothing she could do to take away her mother's pain.
Emma walked around the empty house and thought of ways to make it alive again. She looked out the bay window in the dining room to the back yard and saw what was left of her mother's once beautiful gardens. Some of the flowers had come back but it was mostly over run by weeds. The gazebo in the center had vines growing over it blocking the beautiful wood. She looked over to the patio and saw it needed a new coat of stain. She saw that the pool needed to be cleaned realized the hot tub the same. She them mental list she had started of that needed fixing up around the house.
Emma turned and walked back to her room and saw that she had missed a call from Jason. She listened to his voicemail, he said that the restaurant they were going to was fancy for her to dress up, and the boys would be back to help her around one, before he ended the voicemail he said he loved her and that made Emma smile. She hung up the phone and saw that it was almost one. Knowing the boys would be hungry she went to the kitchen to make them some lunch.

Jason sat at his desk trying to finish the paperwork that had been piling up there for weeks. All he could think about was Emma, of how soft her skin was, of her lips against his. He kept seeing her curled up in the corner of her bathroom as he found her last night. Kept thinking of how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He tried to push her from his thoughts long enough to finish the paperwork but he had no luck.
About two and a half hours later he had most of the paperwork finished. He looked up at the clock on the wall and saw that it was around three. He still had to go home shower, change. He had to pick up the flowers he had ordered for Emma on his way into the precinct that morning. He pushed away from his desk and started to leave. He was just was about to walk out the door when he realized he left his cell phone on his desk. He went back and got it just as the phone on his desk started to ring. He answered it thinking it might be Emma.
"Detective Woods." He said into the phone. To his surprise it was Logan on the other end. "What do you need Logan I was just about to leave." He listened to Logan say that the flower place called his house before they left and said that the flowers were ready to be picked up. "Ok thanks Logan." He said then hung up the phone and left.

It was four thirty when Emma went up stairs to get ready. She showered and dried her hair did her makeup then walked to her closet. She looked at the clothes she had, jeans, shirts, a prom dress, and some dress pants. She couldn't find her dress she thought she packed. She looked through her closet and couldn't find it. She was standing there in her red lace thong and matching bra tying to find her black cocktail dress. After looking for what seemed like hours she finally found it in the back of the closet. She took it out and put it on and she tried to zip the back up all the way but she couldn't reach. She walked over to her door and opened it hoping Logan was in hearing distance. "Logan I need you're help!" She yelled down the hallway.
"Coming Em hold on a sec." She heard Logan yell from his room. When he got to the room, she noticed he looked frazzled and his clothes here crooked almost like he dressed in a hurry. "Hey Em what do you need?" Logan asked coming to sit next to her.
"I can't reach to zip up the rest of my dress."She said standing up so he could finish zipping it up.
Logan zipped up the rest of the dress then looked at his sister. She looked like a goddess. "Hell Emma you look hot. I know I'm you're brother but dang." Logan said as a smile came over his face.
Emma turned around and smiled at her brother, her earlier thoughts on his appearance forgotten. "Thank you Logan. You don't think it's a little short?" She said pulling at the bottom of the dress as to pull it down.
Logan took her hand in his to stop her. "You look beautiful Emma. The length of your dress is just fine." Logan said.
"I have to finish getting ready so go, go on and go back to whatever you were doing. Thank you." Emma said as she pushed him out of the room. When she shut the door behind him she went back to her closet to get her shoes out. She changed her purse to her black clutch. She walked into the bathroom and double checked her makeup and hair, put perfume on. When she was finally ready it was 10 to six. She took one more look in the full length mirror next to her closet. Satisfied she left her bedroom to go in the kitchen. She went down the back stairs, when she got to the kitchen she heard the boys talking. She came down and heard Evan whistle.
"Dang Emma lookin hot."Evan said as he started to fan himself and starting to laugh.
Emma laughed at what Evan said and smiled. "Here is thirty bucks that should get you dinner." She said as she put the money on the counter. Then they head the door bell ring. Logan shot up and ran to the door. She heard him open the door and start to laugh.
"Dang Jay you clean up good." She heard him say.
"Logan you see me in suit and tie every day for work." She heard Jason say back laughing.
"But this is different." He said as he walked back into the kitchen with Jason trailing behind him. When Jason saw Emma he stopped dead in his tracks and stared at her.
