The next morning Emma woke up to a pounding at her bedroom door. She tried to ignore it but whoever it was kept on pounding. She rolled out of bed fixing her shirt she slept in and opened her door to find Logan standing there in his boxers with his fist getting ready to bang on the door again.

"Logan do you know what time it is? What in God's name do you want?" Emma said rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

"Yes, I do know what time it is, it's eight and I'm hungry. Will you make Evan and I breakfast please." Logan said with a smile on his face.

"I have to shower and check on mom then I will make you guys breakfast. Give me thirty minutes. And would you please put some clothes on I really don't want to see you half naked." She said while she pushed past him to the linen closet to get towels. Logan looked in her room to see that she had already unpacked and everything was in its place. Emma pushed past him again and shut her door in his face and went to her bathroom to shower.

When she got out and looked in the mirror she saw that she looked older than twenty three. She had bags under her eyes that made them look sunken in. She hoped that Logan had not noticed when he woke her up. Since her breakup with Pete and finding out her mother was sick she did not sleep much at night. She carefully applied makeup to hide the bags and blow dried her hair. She walked into her room and got dressed in simple jeans and v neck t-shirt.

She left her room to walk down the hall to check on her mother. She knocked on her door and opened it to find her mother awake and reading her worn copy of The Great Gatsby.

"I am going to make the boys breakfast mom do you want anything?" Emma asked as she sat on the edge of the bed next to her mother.

"No honey I'm fine if I eat with my morning medicine it makes me sick. I'm fine with my book. Jason, Evans brother is a very nice man make sure Logan remembers to introduce you when he comes to pick Evan up. Go on make the boy's breakfast I am sure that's why you are up so early." Her mother went back to her book as Emma got up to leave.
