Emma was just starting dinner when the back door slammed open and Logan sauntered in the house with Evan not far behind him. "Logan you break that door and you will be spending this weekend fixing it." Emma said trying to be serious and not to laugh at her brother as they dropped the backpacks onto the breakfast island.
"It will take more than that to break that door Em, and you know it." Logan said while coming around to give her a kiss hello on her cheek. "We have a big project to work on, so we are going to go up to my room." Logan said while grabbing his backpack and making his way to the stairs Evan not too far behind him.
"Evan, can you take the basket of laundry up with you? My back would be so thankful." Emma asked as he came around the counter to greet her before following Logan up to his room.
"Not a problem, Em. Jason mentioned he was going to try and fix the dumbwaiter this weekend so that you didn't have to lug the laundry up and down the stairs anymore." Evan said as he walked through the door way to the steps.
"That would be helpful." She said as she went back to preparing the chicken to go in the oven for dinner. A little while later after she got everything into the oven, she went to go check the washer. As she walked past the base of the steps, she noticed the laundry basket she asked Evan to take up with him was still where she had left it earlier. "I guess I will take it up myself." She said frustratedly as she picked it up and made her way up the stairs.
She took the basket to her room and took out hers and Jason's clothes before taking the remaining clothes to Logan and Evan's room for them. As she approached the door, she noticed there was not much noise coming from inside the room. Which is odd because Logan is always complaining about school work and Evan is always telling him to shut up about it.
When she opened the door, she saw Logan and Evan spring up from the bed in surprise, almost tripping over the clutter on the floor in the process. "Uh, are you guys ok?" Emma asked concerned as she stepped into the room.
"Can you please knock before you come in!" Logan shouted wile trying to regain his balance and straiting his clothing. As she looked between them, she noticed the state of their clothes; Logan's pants where undone and Evan's belt was half open.
"Uh, guys what is going on in here?" Emma asked while still looking between the two of them.
"Nothing! We were working on our project" Evan rushed to say as he pulled down his shirt over the front of his pants.
"Riight" Emma said drawing out the word. "That's why your backpacks are over there on the chair still closed and both of your pants are undone." She said skeptically.
"Guys I don't care, and I will always love you just please be honest this with me." She said has she set down the basked of clothes.
"Please don't say anything to Jason yet Emma, I want to be the one that tells him." Evan said as he ran his hands though his hair.
"I won't say anything Evan, but you should tell him. He won't love you any less either. How long has this been happening?" Emma asked as she sat on the edge of Logan's bed patting either side of her for them to sit with her.
"For a while, Mom knew I am not sure how. I never told her, she wrote in her letter that she knew, and she loved me anyways, that she already considered Evan as a son and happy that I found someone to love. She said that while I didn't feel comfortable enough to tell her she hopped one day I would be able to tell you." Logan said as he sat hesitantly next to her on the bed.
"You love me?" Evan asked surprised as he sat on the other side of Emma. His mouth was agape like he couldn't even believe the words that had come out of Logan's mouth.
"Of course, I do you idiot. How could I not?" Logan said in a huff as if he was annoyed that Evan was questioning him.
"Well you never said it before, never even admitted that you even had those types of feelings. Considering how I came on to you and you didn't even want to admit you where gay to yourself let alone admit how you felt me." Evan said as he looked straight at the partially open door to the bedroom. Feeling the bed shift and seeing Logan come into his line of view.
"Yes, that is true I didn't want to admit it to anyone let alone myself, but that doesn't make my feelings for you any less E. You know me better than anyone and I hate that you questioned how I felt about you." Logan said as he knelt in front of Evan on the floor while taking both of Evans hands in his.
"I love you too Lo, I don't want you to ever doubt that." Evan said squeezing Logan's hands in his. They sat there staring at each other not saying a word aloud but their eyes telling the others all they needed to say. When they heard sniffling, they looked over to see Emma was holding back tears.
"Emma, what's wrong!" Logan said quickly getting up to sit next to his sister. "Why are you crying? Are you ok? Are you upset?" Logan barely took a breath while questions continued to spew from his mouth.
"Lo, take a breath let her respond." Evan said while laughing at the pair. Emma kept trying to talk, but Logan wouldn't shut up; so, she just sat there looking like a gaping fish opening and closing her mouth trying to get a word in.
"No, you nut case I am fine! I am just happy for both of you. I didn't even suspect but I love you no less, either of you. I don't even know why I am crying!" Emma chuckled while wiping her tears away.
"Hey Emma, are you upstairs the timer is going off!" They hear Jason yell from downstairs. Emma stands and walks over to the door.
"I am up here baby can you take the food out I will be down in a minute." She yelled back while turning to look at her brother and Evan.
"Emma, please I want to be the one who tells him. I just want to wait until the time is right." Evan said almost pleading to her not to say anything.
"I won't say anything, but I am not going to lie to him either. He won't think any less of you Evan, tell him he loves you no matter what. The four of us are a family and we always will be. Oh, and thanks for not taking the basket up by the way. I only came in here to give you a hard time for not doing it. Sort yourselves out and come down for dinner please." Emma shook her head while making her way through the door and closing it behind her.
"E! Why didn't you bring the laundry up? I mean I feel relieved we don't have to hide from her anymore, but she didn't have to find out like that!" Logan said while pacing in front of the bed.
"Lo stop pacing, I'm sorry I heard her ask but I was so focused on getting up here! You got me so worked up on the bus that it was all if could think of to come up here and pay you back for the raging hard on you left me with! One I still have by the way!" Evan got up and grabbed Logan's hand placing it over his jeans to show him exactly what he meant.
"To hell with it" Logan mumbled before he crashed his lips to Evans, picking up right where the left off before Emma came into the room. As he started to undo the rest of Evans jeans the rest of the way they heard a knock on the door.
"Evan, Logan, Emma said that dinner is ready she is setting the table for us to eat." Jason said though the door while both boys groaned at being interrupted again.
"We will be right down Jay." Evan replied through the door while doing his pants back up. "So, help me we will be finishing this later." He said to Logan as he opened the door to go downstairs for dinner.
