You and (S/O/C) had been through it all. Ups, downs, twists, and turns. Throughout the mess that was your relationship, you both stuck by each other. Well you stuck by him/her. You couldn't really say that the favor was returned.
But that was how it was and you were used to it. Being taken for granted and used... a second choice.
There wasn't a single thing that you wouldn't have done for her/him. She/he had you completely wrapped around her/his little finger and she/he knew it. Deep down, you knew it too, you just didn't want to admit it to anybody, including yourself.
Eventually, you snapped out of the little trance she/he always put you in and reality hit you in the face.
You weren't in the happy relationship that you deserved. You weren't getting the attention you most definitely deserved.
So once you realized how unhappy you truly were, you stopped trying. You gave up on keeping the relationship with him/her together. Especially after you realized you were the only one trying to make it work.
You allowed yourself to meet other people and experience what it felt like to have someone care about you like you cared about them. To not have a one sided relationship.
Your friends, family members, and everyone else around you noticed your mood change. How you were so much happier than you had ever been once you finally let go.
(O/S) gave you the respect and attention that you deserved and longed for. (O/S) always made time for you and tried her/his hardest to bring a smile onto your face. And it always worked.
You were out with (O/S) one day whenever (S/O/C) saw you with her/him. She/he could see the difference.
You looked happier.
Your e/c orbs were bright and happy. A smile was on your lips as you gazed at your new lover, unaware of your past lover watching.
(S/O/C) frowned, realizing all of the things he did wrong, but her/his lips slowly lifted up into a smile once she/he realized that you were happy with (O/S).
