Do you know that feeling when you just look back at the past, even though you are aware that you really shouldn't and it just makes things harder to move on?
You spent most of your days thinking about your past life. It was a wild, risky, thrilling life. However, as you grew older, you came to the conclusion that the old life you lived was a life that you needed to put behind you.
You knew that your previous life was something that you really needed to leave in the past, however, you couldn't bring yourself to forget it. Or maybe you just didn't want to forget it. Your friends, all the memories, and the thrill were some of your favorite things of those days.
You didn't exactly want to have a perfect life. You didn't really want to get married nor have children. But you wanted a normal-ish life. One where you wouldn't be on the run from the law.
You see, you were with the slashers. You stayed in the slasher mansion with them and they were like family to you after a certain amount of time. You had grown attached to them and eventually began to enjoy their company.
You knew that if you left that life behind, you would have to leave them behind too, which was probably the hardest part. They were your family.
You wanted to be normal, but you still thought it was best to stay off of the radar so you lived out in the country side. You didn't have neighbors for miles out. Just how you liked it. Secluded.
Since you left the slashers, you had taken up many different hobbies instead of killing. Reading was one of your main hobbies and something you did quite often nowadays.
You were just coming back from the library actually. You pulled into your driveway before exiting your vehicle and making your way to the front door of your home. With your book in your left hand, you held your keys in your right hand, using them to unlock the door.
Once the door was unlocked you entered. You sat your book down on a nearby table, along with your keys. You suddenly stopped, a feeling coming over you. Something didn't feel right. You felt as if you were being watched. You knew the feeling all too well.
You turned towards your living room, eyeing everything as best as you could. It was around midnight and the house lights were off, making it hard to see through the darkness.
Your hand slowly reached out towards the light switch before flipping it up. The lights flickered once before turning on, revealing a group of familiar faces.
You couldn't help but gasp as you eyed everyone down. You hadn't seen these faces in almost a year now. Smiles were on most of their faces, some you couldn't see their expression due to their mask, and some you couldn't see a smile, but in their eyes, you could see joy.
"Guys..." you slowly spoke the first word, breaking the silence. Your eyes weren't sure who to focus on, you looked from Michael to Jason to Tiffany to Norman to Jedidiah, and everyone else.
"We want you back." Norman spoke. The four words caused questions to swirl around in your head. Wanted you back? Why?
As if she could read your thoughts, Tiffany now spoke up. "We miss you, dear."
"Yeah. Even I admit, things are different without you around." Chucky spoke up.
"Guys... I can't just come back. I want to live a normal life." You spoke, shaking your head.
"Do you actually?" Freddy jumped in, giving you a doubting look.
You stayed quiet for a few seconds, trying to find the right words to say. You really did want a normal life at first, but then after realizing how boring it was, you missed your previous life. After some time, you let out a sigh. "No."
"Then come home with us." Amanda spoke, a small smile on her face as she realized the chance of you coming back was high.
You sat in silence for a few minutes, thinking. Everyone just patiently waited for you, watching your expressions.
You thought about the times Jason took you to his camp and you killed together. When you helped Amanda with some of her traps. When you met Jedidiah's family for the first time and how kind they were. Baking with Tiffany. Every little thing you did with them game came into your mind and you had your answer.
"...Fine."
