Jessie was writing at her desk at home. She received a text from Zack which read "goodnight" she couldn't bother to text back. She blurted out a goodnight before sitting at the edge of her bed
She sighed and put her head into her hands. She thought about her day, something she didn't like doing but once she got started she couldn't stop.
She always thinks about the things she could've done. Things she shouldn't have done. Things she shouldn't have said. Things she could've said. Blame. She always blamed herself. Constantly. Even for the smallest things. If she accidentally put a 5 on the calculator instead of a 4, she'd beat herself over it. It doesn't help when people point it out either.
She wished she didn't do all the things she did today. She was quiet and lost in thought. For the days to come.
Soon images flooded her mind. Ugly images. A fear she holds a over her head. She's always anticipated for it to fall onto her shoulders. And she's have to carry it till the end of the finish line.
The images were far too vivid and slow. Watching it happen while being unable to do anything. It was a nightmare but she was living through the images. She wasn't comfortable and resting. No, she was just sitting there petrified.
The images of Zack popped up in her head. Him hanging from the ceiling fan. Him slitting his throat. Him bleeding out in a tub. Him shoving a handful of pills down his throat and dying with blood, vomit, and foam coming out of his mouth. Him motioning for me to cover my ears before he blows his brains out. And soon the images forged to William. The exact same thing. And then Karla. And then her family. And she couldn't stop it. She screamed and yelled for it to stop. Karla suddenly bursted into Jessie's room.
"JESSICA!"
Jessica was holding her head and curled up while sitting on the floor.
"Jessica!" Karla was shaking her but jess wouldn't respond. And so she called William and Zack. Asking them to come over. Karla took notice to Jessie's deep, heavy, and rapid breathing.
Zack and William came as soon as possible and they bursted into Jessie's room.
"What's wrong with her?" William asked, immediately going to her side.
"I-I I don't know. I think she's having a panic attack."
Zack stood there not having any room to hug or shake her. "Do we call an ambulance?"
"I don't know..."
Soon Jessie's breathing became very short and staggered, then she passed out.
Zack went to her side as soon as he saw her go limp. He picked her up and placed her in his car and sat down. The other two sat in the car and Zack drive off.
At the hospital Zack was being asked plenty of questions. Karla went up and said that she was her cousin and would take charge for her in the mean time. Karla told Zack to go sit down so he could calm down for a second.
Zack put his head into his hands and started bouncing his leg rapidly.
"Zack... calm down she'll be alright."
"I don't know man. I hope so. They said that they might have to do an MRI scan to see if there was any brain damage. She had a really bad attack this time. The other ones she would just sit down and get her head off of it as much as she could."
"I know I know. What's good is that she is alright in that room. She's calm. And if she isn't we'll hear the beep rise. Alright?"
"Alright. When can we see her? Do we know?" As soon as Zack asked those questions the nurse came out of the room and looked at the two boys with big doe eyes.
