Jessica's full upper half sprawled out across her desk as Karla turned around to stare down at her. "What's bothering you now?"
"I want a boyfriend." William, who sat on the left side of Karla in the rows, turned around and shook his head at her.
"Don't we all?"
"I don't." William spat out, fidgeting with his pencil. Karla giggled and Jessie eyed William, who was getting nervous by the minute with her stares.
"I have a feeling you'll get a boyfriend soon." Karla whipped right around and chuckled a bit.
"Yeah right."
"I'm a witch, I would know." Karla looked at her in disbelief and then shook her head.
"I have a feeling too." William said.
"Yeah, he would know, he's a wizard." Jess started laughing at her own joke as Karla and William just shook their heads.
"Alright class! Good morning!"
As Jess got home, she noticed that there was a moving truck at the house next to her's. She got out of her car and looked over, curious about who was moving in. "Finally, that house had been for sale for half of the damn year." She mumbled under her breath, gathering her book bag, still eyeing what was going on.
"Zack! Get over here and help with this pile of boxes. It's too heavy for your old mother."
"Mom, you're not that old." Just then, walking from the garage and into her eye sight, a handsome, tall, black haired boy walked to the truck. But before he got onto the ramp, the two made eye contact. Jess got nervous and slammed her car door, walking into her own garage. But before she got inside, she looked back to see the boy still standing there, looking at her. He waved and Jessica shyly waved back.
"Zack! Quit standing there and help us." Jess giggled and threw herself into the house, running up to her room and jumping onto her bed.
"So apparently Jess has a really hot neighbor." Karla told William, who was enjoying a donut Jess got him.
"Really? What if he goes here."
Jessica quickly flushed, "that would be tragic for my heart." Karla giggled and bit into her donut.
When class started, they three of them sat down, still talking to each other about random things. Then the teacher walked in, with someone following behind her.
Jessica's head turned from the new presence walking in. Then the two made eye contact. Karla noticed Jess was staring off, so she too turned around to see what was happening.
"Is that him?!" Karla whipped right around and smiled at Jess. "You are right, he's pretty good looking!" She whispered to the girl who was in a daze. William heard Karla compliment the boy and huffed.
"Good morning class. Today we have a new student." The teacher moved away to the side to let the kid introduce himself.
"Good morning." He bowed down and smiled at the class. "My name is Zack Snyder. I'm excited to make new friends here." Immediately some of the girls were whispering amongst each other, giggling at their own dirty jokes. Some of the boys were greeting him, asking him if he plays baseball, something the school was lacking success in.
"Zack, you sit right behind Jessica." Zack looked up to the whole class, waiting for the Jessica girl to show herself so he could sit down.
Karla turned around and smacked Jess on the arm, to which she quickly stood up and smiled awkwardly. Her arms showcased his desk and he hid a chuckle, thanking her quickly before taking his seat.
Jess sat down and grabbed her handbook, quietly banging it into her face. "I dare you to ask him to sit with us during lunch." William whispered, to which Jessica just glared.
"It's only kind to do it. You did it with William." Jess' eyebrows lifted as she smirked at Karla.
"Oh yeah, well I only did that because-" Karla quickly covered Jessica's mouth, glaring at the tall woman.
"Okay," Karla nervously chuckled, "just ask him to sit with us." Jess sighed and she turned around, slapping a smile onto her face.
"Hey, Zack, would you like to sit with us at lunch?" Her hand pointed at William and Karla. Zack have a smile back at her and nodded his head. Jess' smile turned genuine. "Cool." She turned back around and gave a thumbs up to her friends.
Once lunch rolled around, the three of the friends sat there waiting for the new boy. Walking in with a crowd of girls swarming around him, he glanced up and noticed the curly haired girl talking with her friends.
"I really appreciate your offers but I can't think straight when I'm hungry." Zack smiled at the ladies around him as he nervously chuckled, trying to get away from them.
"Well Zack, you can sit with me."
"No. He will sit with me."
"What about us?"
"I'm sorry but someone is already saving me a seat." Zack found a gap through the circle he was in and escaped quick, using his long legs as an advantage.
"Hello Zack." William greeted him as Karla and Jess smiled at him.
"Sorry for being a little late." Jess smiled at him and shook her head.
"It's okay neighbor."
"Ah so that was you?"
"Yes. Did you take the boxes in that your mom yelled at you to take?" Zack laughed at her as she smiled. William and Karla looked at each other, eyeing one another, wondering what this weird connection was.
"Yes, yes I did."
"Well I'm gonna go get my lunch." William said and Zack stood up with him.
"Me as well." The two boys left to get in line, a bunch of other people boys over to William to talk to him and his new friend.
"What was that?"
"What was what?"
"You guys were talking as if you have been talking for years."
