Jessica. A princess. Secret one that is.
"Sweetie, you cannot be known as a princess."
"Why not?" She twiddled with the hem of her dress.
"Well, there are bad guys out there who want pretty princesses like you, so you have to pretend you're not one." She nodded and her father picked her up, embracing her into a tight hug and spinning her around, giggles filling the room.
"Welcome our new student, Jessica Scott." Master Luke introduced the new student to the class. She was only 17, almost 18 the next winter. No longer in her beautiful gowns, and instead put into wraps, hoods, and robes. A few of the students greeted her, the others nodded their head, but one boy up in the front caught her eye. He kept glancing at her, not seeming to feel the need to address the new presence, but also seeming to like what he saw. "Jessica, you can sit up front right next to Zack Snyder." The boy who was glancing at her, let out a heavy sigh and motioned to the seat next to his.
She gently sat down and smiled at him. He tried to ignore her, but there was something pulling him to her.
"So class. As you know, I like to switch the sleeping arrangements from time to time, and today is that day." Master Luke called out to his class. "Brianika with Gorpe, Jelon with Hunto, Zack with Jessica," he continued on his list and Zack had a lump form in his throat.
"So I guess you'll be my roommate for awhile?"
"Yeah... I guess." Zack commented back to her, in a gaze just from the sound of her voice.
"Well I'm excited to get to know you better." Zack then snapped out of it and hummed towards her. He realized his lone room wouldn't be lonely anymore. How was he going to hide his night terrors, his conversations with him.
"Master Luke? May I talk to you in private?" Luke stared down Zack. Zack was one of his best students and he knew that he always favored the kid over the others, it was brought to his attention that he was his favorite and he saw some kids talking shit about Zack.
"Yes Zack?" They both pulled out into the hallway.
"Well, I was wondering if I could have a room just for myself?"
"Are you upset that you're being paired with a girl?"
"No Master, I just feel better alone."
Luke stared at Zack for a long while. "Just give it a shot. If you don't like it then I'll switch you into a private dorm, if possible. You're only now getting a roommate because there was an uneven amount." Zack grunted, but politely nodded and went back to the classroom.
"So where are you from?"
"Naboo."
"Naboo?! I've always wanted to go there! It's so pretty!"
"It really is. The lake was my favorite part. Swimming in it during summer was so much fun." Zack sat back in his chair and William came over to him.
"So what do you think about the new girl? Are you excited to have her as your roommate?"
"Please... I'd rather be alone."
"Why? It's so boring without a roommate. Besides, you have a super pretty roommate."
"That doesn't matter. We can't date anyone, it's forbidden."
"That Jedi rule was always so fucking dumb."
"It's there for a reason." William quickly sat down once Master Luke walked in and got ready to read from a few of the books to the class.
Jessica walked into the dorm to find a bunk bed built into the wall, a mini seating area with chairs perfect for meditating, and a tiny kitchen.
