One of the shortest chapters I've ever written ;) serious editing was involved too, so sorry bout that

"remind me who this 'Kassidy Walker' girl is? for some reason i don't know her," Amber muttered, lost in thought.

it was lunchtime the next day, and the girls were just now sitting down to eat. "are you sure? because she's super nice and she likes to stand away from the popular crowd, like me." Rhi laughed and then took another bite out of her pizza, finishing the last of it voraciously, then setting the remains of it down on the tray. she never really liked the crust on pizzas.

"damn you eat fast," Amber chuckled, still only halfway done with her pizza. "we just sat down girl."

"i know, but school bores me so much that it makes me hella hungry." Rhi nearly guzzled down her chocolate milk and finished the rest of her meal; two all-meat burritos, a club sandwich, and an apple. she burped loudly and covered her mouth in embarrassment. "oops."

when the bus finally dropped Rhi off, she walked home at a rather quick pace.

she began to work on homework and watch some TV. Rhi was working on some math, preparing to unpause the TV, whenever a loud bang sounded from outside, somewhere in the yard below her room. Rhi froze, but decided it would be a good idea to check it out.

when she got downstairs and slowly walked out into the chilly air.

a guy stepped out from behind the trash cans.

"Excuse me sir, what are you doing in my yard?" Rhi suddenly shouted, and inwardly praised herself for her strange new bravery.

the strange guy gasped, then held his hands up in the air. "i come in peace. i'm not here to hurt you... i just got lost, that's all."

but then Rhi realized that this 'guy' wasn't really that much of a man yet; he was a teenage boy, a handsome one at that, possibly around her age or a little older. his voice sounded really deep, so it really threw her off.

"you still didn't explain why you're in MY yard," Rhi snarled.

the boy was about to answer, but then a brisk breeze blew through the yard, stirring the leaves on the ground and tossing Rhi's hair around. she gasped when a scent hit her- it was the stranger's- and she realized it was the same exact smell that was on the jacket. "y-you... who are you?" she whispered as the wind died down.

the boy folded his arms across his chest. he too, looked a little surprised. "i could ask you the same thing, werewolf."

Rhi's mouth nearly dropped to the ground. "you know that i'm a WEREWOLF?! how the fu-"

"shhhh, keep your voice down! your neighbors will hear you," the boy hissed. "listen, i'm... i'm a werewolf too, okay? i'm still a new one though, and judging by your scent, you are too. how long have you been one?"

Rhi swallowed nervously. "about a week."

the boy inhaled sharply. "me too. i was so shocked that i became one, i didn't even know they were real and i thought i was going NUTS..."

"can you just explain to me what the hell you're doing here?" Rhi snapped, the venom re-entering her voice.

the boy nodded quickly. "yeah sure, sorry. my name is Jace. i found a strange scent a little while ago and i tracked it down until i came to your house. then i stumbled into your yard, knocking over a trash can, and now here we are." he spread his arms out as if to convey his presence.

"ok... but i have to tell you something, Jace. a couple days ago at school, i found a weird jacket laying on the floor of the girl's restroom... and it matches your scent almost exactly."

the yard grew eerily silent; the wind stopped hammering through the trees, the grass stopped shivering in the wind, and all life outside the yard seemed to be dead silent.

Jace took a deep breath, as if unsure how to say whatever he was about to say. "t-that's my s-sister's jacket."

Rhi froze. "well who's your sister? she has to be a werewolf too if she has the same scent as you..."

"her name is Kassidy."
