rhi was thankful to wake up and not have school, just now realizing that it was a saturday and not a weekday.

getting out of bed was still hard though, regardless of what day it was.

she still felt shaken up about the evening at tall hill last night, remembering blaire's bitchy attitude and her unnecessary gossip to tye. at least he hadn't done anything, but it's not like he tried to stand up for her like kassidy did.

"good morning sweetheart. how was tall hill last night?" her mom asked with a groggy yet friendly smile.

"it was okay. way better than i thought it was going to be." she decided not to go too into details.

"that's great. i used to love going up there all the time when i was your age, and it's also a very romantic spot."

rhi rolled her eyes, mustering up a smile at the thought of her mom being a young love-stricken teenager. "i'm glad i don't have a boyfriend right now."

"oh trust me peanut, you wouldn't want to have one for a very long time." jenny was making pancakes, and rhi just noticed that 'this love' by maroon 5 was playing on the echo dot nearby. rhi hadn't heard it in a long time, and she remembered that it was a major bop for sure.

"is there any coffee left?" rhi asked with a smirk, and jenny nodded. "yup, there's plenty."

rhi walked over to the keurig coffee machine and added sugar and cream first, then poured the warm contents into her favorite mug and sat down in front of the marble countertop. jenny had already made five pancakes, and it looked like she was making five more. you could never have too many pancakes on a saturday morning.

once the rest of the pancakes were finished, rhi and her mom chowed down on the delicious syrupy meal, listening to the rest of the maroon 5 album play on in the background.

as soon as 'one more night' started playing, rhi had wolfed down the last of her pancakes and washed off her plate in the sink, then proceeded to place the plate into the dishwasher.

"hey hon, how about running some errands with me today? i need to get more jeans at the mall, and i thought it would be nice if you could come along too, maybe get something for yourself?" jenny was now placing her plate in the dishwasher, and rhi immediately thought of the last time she went to the mall; a blast of foreign scents struggling to choke her before she even walked into the building, so many unwanted voices clamoring over each other, and too many things happening at once. "uhh, maybe next time? i, uh, wanted to see if i could hang out with amber today." she felt bad about rejecting her mom's offer, but she just couldn't go through with that ordeal again. maybe someday she could, when she would eventually get used to her overpowered werewolf senses.

but jenny nodded, not feeling too affected by it. "oh okay, that's fine. i was just curious." she took a sip of her coffee. "how are you getting over there?"

"maybe her mom could pick me up, or you could, maybe?"

"alright, that sounds fine. but i need to get dressed first, because i'll be going straight to the mall after i drop you off." she then left the kitchen and power-walked up the stairs and into her room. rhi decided she would get dressed too, throwing on a typical black hoodie with grey leggings. she put her hair up into a messy bun, put on a minimal amount of makeup, then walked downstairs to wait for her mom.

once she was finished, they left the house and went straight for amber's. "did you text her that you're on your way over?"

rhi nodded. "yeah, and she said her parents were fine with me coming over. they're also running some errands today."

ten minutes later, they arrived in front of amber's two story house, and rhi waved goodbye to her mom as she left. rhi pulled out her phone and texted her friend. hey biotch, i'm here.

nearly half a second later, amber texted back. yay!! i'm so glad you could come over today! just walk right in, i'm in my room. :))

rhi walked right inside, noticing that her friend's parents had already left, and walked right on upstairs. "hey am, i'm here."

"hey! what's up?" she hugged rhi, then they sat down on amber's bed.
"oh, nothing much..."

some four hours later, jenny picked up rhi from amber's house and they proceeded on back home. "so, how was amber today?"

"she's great, as usual. we pretty much just stayed inside and watched a couple romance movies, then talked for a little while about life and stuff like that."

"great, great. well, i'm glad i got my shopping over with. i also stopped by urban outfitters and got you a little something..."

rhi was beyond excited to hear that. urban outfitters was her favorite store and she just loved to see what they had in store for her every time she walked in there.

when they got back home, rhi looked through the bag and saw two new shirts; one was white with a japanese quote inscribed on the back of it, and the other was a light pink with a small smiley face on one of the sleeves. "i figured you needed more pink stuff. and it was just happy, i couldn't resist!"

rhi smiled widely. "thanks! they're really cute. i can't wait to wear them soon."

jenny grinned back at her, then after a few minutes she returned to her room to do some laundry, and rhi went back up to her own room with her two new shirts. she folded them neatly onto her bed, then her phone chimed with a text message. she was expecting it to be from amber, but it was from kassidy.

hey rhi, when you get the chance, call me. i have something very, very important to discuss with you.
