I didn't sleep for ages after our encounter. I was just lying there, in bed, eyes wide open staring at the ceiling as I thought about what I'd do for my date. I would always tend to stay up late thinking about things. I'd been unconscious for a few hours so I wasn't tired either, which made it worse.
My mind strayed from the date to what would happen next, how would school life be? Would it affect us in any way? Would there be a curfew? Would there be bodyguards? These questions kept piling up in my brain as I did eventually succumb to sleep. It wasn't long-lived though as I ended up having another nightmare and woke up at, again, a little past five in the morning.
I tried to get back to sleep for a while and gave up, swinging my feet over the bed and dropping into my slippers. Although I still ached a little, I was feeling much more spry. I arched my spine back a little and cracked it, pulled my machine along with me, and left my room to look for Recovery Girl.
I walked down the hall and found her office, which I knocked on lightly. She answered to come in and I did, opening the door into the room and pulling the machine inside with me. "Did you have a good night's rest?" She asked.
"Yeah." I lied through my teeth.
She gave me a brief check-up and gave me the all clear. I was ready to be discharged and go home. My father would probably be worried... My father! I hadn't even told him about the incident!
"I completely forgot to tell my dad what had happened! He's gonna be upset I didn't say anything..."
"Don't worry, we called him while you were first brought in. He asked if he needed to come here but we told him you'd be alright under our care, and was satisfied with that. Now, let's get the needle out and cover up the exit wound and you'll be all set to go."
As she moved towards my left arm where the needle was I looked away and tried to take my mind off it. If I had one weakness, it was needles and blood.
I had a fear of heights, I still do even today as I'm writing this book, but at least I have a quirk that can save me even if I do fall, so it's manageable.
Blood and needles? Freaks me the hell out. So instead I just focused on my disappointment about my father not coming in to see if his own son was safe.
She pulled the tape from over the needle and pulled it out. The feeling of metal being pulled out of my skin made me wince. She kissed my arm and the tiny hole disappeared.
I smiled at her, "Thanks, for everything. I'll try not to cause so much damage next time."
She scoffed, "You? You should have seen Midoriya, All Might, and Aizawa. They always seem to take the worst hits. You didn't have any physical injuries, just exhaustion and a bit of dehydration and malnourishment, make sure to eat as soon as you're home."
She handed me an orange and a banana from a fruit bowl on her desk.
"You need more vitamins. Your battle form seems to use up a lot of nutrients and energy at a hyper metabolic rate."
"My... Battle form, huh?"
I smiled at that thought. Yeah, a battle form. Let's call it that! I thanked her yet again as she handed me my sewn clothes and left, immediately peeling the banana to start eating. I hadn't realised how hungry I was. I don't even like oranges and I made quick work of that too after the banana.
I disposed of the skins into a bin on the street on the way home. I definitely needed a shower. Yikes, I hope I hadn't smelt like that when Tsu was talking to me...
I was still a little stiff so it took me a little over half an hour to get home. As soon as I got to my front door I reached into my back pocket, only just now thinking of my phone and wallet. I breathed in and held my breath.
