Kaiyo lay dead on the ground, the small group of us completely and utterly traumatised by the sight. No one should have to see what we saw that day. Hawks was the only one who really had any sort of experience with that sort of thing, but even he was perturbed. He pulled out his phone and dialled Sansa, telling him the situation. "She's dead. Gonna need a clean-up crew for this one..." Not that this was a public area, but it would be horrific to simply come across a squishy decaying body such as this one.
It also felt wrong not to give the girl a proper burial. She was a sociopath, she tried to kill us, but seeing her like this after the speech she gave still filled us all with a pit of despair in our stomachs that made us unable to feel anything but pity for her. She deserved a chance at life, but we failed to convince her otherwise. Was she really scared of the actions of her consequences? Or did she believe she deserved them, but didn't think she would face them in the way she thought she should, so took actions into her own hands?
Midoriya was pretty shaken up about the whole ordeal, feeling he had failed the most, regretting that he was unable to talk her down. That guy was a beacon of hope and a ray of light in a dark world, but unfortunately, hers was just too dark and foggy to have light penetrate it. Each of us were debriefed later on, with me wanting to do nothing but see Tsu and see Mister Aizawa to check on how he was doing. I wanted to know how she had gotten along with her fight too, and what was happening to the rest of the Underdogs.
Ribbon Dancer was trying to fight off some of the heroes, but upon being informed that his beloved had died, all life left his eyes and his will depleted in an instant, surrendering without hesitation, the emotion in his voice gone. The other five members each were restrained, with Power Fist being given emergency treatment in much the same way Mister Aizawa was, but with so many crimes happening across the country and so little help from official heroes anymore, resources were stretched thin.
The rest of the known Todoroki family were informed of Endeavour's death, with Fuyumi being the most distraught, and with Rei and Natsuo seeming conflicted, glad that they knew the suffering was over, but feeling aimless and without a sense of closure. Shoto himself was also feeling as if there was nothing to work towards in regards progress for his relationships mending or ending. There was no relationship, his father was gone. It was just one more thing he and I could relate to each other about.
With most of us being debriefed, it was confirmed beyond reasonable doubt due to our testimonies and later, the wounds Kaiyo were found to have, that what I wrote here was true. The only things left up to interpretation were the thoughts swirling through her troubled mind. The damages incurred from our fights were immense, with Power Fist and Kaiyo of course being the biggest offenders, but due to most of the damage caused being against buildings and roads, Cementoss was called in to take care of a large portion of it.
As the rest of the teams converged and we shared stories of what happened, tears were also shared on behalf of Endeavour and Mister Aizawa. However, the latter was still in hospital, in urgent care. I needed to see him. I had to... But I wasn't able to until the next day, as surgeries were performed on him for fourteen hours straight. Even though it was the crack of dawn, not long after the witching hour, I had stayed in the hospital, waiting for an answer. Exhausted, the surgeon exited the operating floor and approached me.
"I take it you're a relative or close friend?" He asked, to which I said, "Something like that..." The man sighed and said, "He's lost a lot of blood, and almost all of his organs were ruptured. If the country wasn't in such a mess right now, we might be able to get donors, but as it stands... All we could do was try to repair them and keep his body going. It... Is highly unlikely he will survive more than a few hours. I'm sorry, but if he wakes up, you should tell him whatever you need before he's gone. It's never easy... Failing to save someone. But sometimes, there's simply nothing you can do, and that isn't your fault. Remember that."
