He did it.
He launched the nuke.
Cyberghost went outside the communications device and stood proudly amongst the villains. " This has been a complete success! "
Kirakiri grabbed him by the throat and slammed him down on his back, " Give me one good reason not to kill you right now? "
" W-why would you kill me? I have catered exactly to your desires! The aftermath will result in a world without villains! "
" By killing billions of innocent people?! The ends do not justify the means! "
" That is your opinion. Humanity suffers every second we speak, and so does the Earth. Yes, this nuke will severely damage our mother earth, and set humans back hundreds or even thousands of years... But think about it! An Adam and Eve with quirks, without need of large industries destroying the planet!
Nature will heal if she's left alone, but humanity currently just won't let her heal! It was the only way! "
Seething, Kirakiri squeezed, causing Cyberghost to clutch at the hands around his neck. " Your actions will result in billions of deaths. Including Sairokaku. You do not get to choose who lives and who dies in this situation, and you're going to hurt someone very close to me. What's the harm in your life being the first that's lost? "
Kirakiri remembered his life, sort of like a flash before his eyes kind of deal, since the nuke was currently launching from the bay it was in, he didn't have long left to live. He may never even see his friend again.
He thought back to when he was a few years younger, when his mother was still alive.
He had just moved in to a new neighbourhood, a new school, a new life. He and his mother lived alone, and were relatively quiet people. Haruto found it hard to make friends in his new school, as his quirk didn't fit in with the rest.
" Uhm... It only works when there's fog or smoke around... " He explained.
" No way, you're just making that up to make it look like you're not just some quirkless loser! " Replied one of the kids.
Hurt, Haruto kept to himself even moreso from then on. He had no friends in his class, not even in his entire school. He was an easy target since, ya know, there's not normally smoke in class hallways.
Other kids often picked on him, or even beat him up for the sole fact that they viewed him as quirkless. They didn't care about his reasonings, and he wasn't a strong kid, so he had no way of fighting back.
Then one day, a boy his age transferred to his school. His name was Yuto. He was one of the weirdest looking people he'd ever met, he was an anthropomorphic mushroom, he was literally a mushroom with arms and legs.
He was like a nightmarish recreation of Toad from Mario. He wasn't that tall, had vertical slits for eyes, his eyes being black with yellow irises, a crooked smile, and a cap that had purple and red patches all the way over.
I still question the genetics behind his birth, like, what two people were able to make this being? Quirk society is such a strange phenomena...
Everyone, every single kid, even the teacher, looked at him either in disbelief or disgust. He was different, he was an outcast before he even said anything, just because of how he looked.
But Haruto looked at him with curiosity. Sending everyone's judging eyes, Yuto noticed Haruto's impartial gaze filled with genuine childlike wonder, so approached him, extending his hand to the boy behind a desk.
" Hey. " He started. " I'm Yuto. "
Nervously taking it, Haruto replied, " I'm Haruto... "
" I can already tell people aren't going to like me here... But you seem nice. I can see it in your eyes, you don't hate me for how I look, do you? "
