Warmth greeted me as I woke up to the sound of my phone's alarm. As I opened my eyes, I remembered what happened the night before when I saw my arms were still wrapped around Tsu.
If I wanted to brag, I could technically say I slept with her, since I literally did. She opened her eyes and smiled at me as I turned off the alarm.
"Morning, Alex-chan, kero. Sleep well?"
"Best night I've ever had. You?"
"I slept great, too! Oh, I should probably go quickly, if someone sees me coming out of your room our cover will definitely be blown."
I facepalmed and shook my head, smiling, "And Ashido will never let it go... Alright, see you later, Tsu-chan."
At that, she got up and opened the door a crack. After checking to see if the coast was clear, she opened it fully and scurried off out of sight, closing the door behind her.
When we all got to class, Mr Aizawa started the day by telling us a little bit about the Provisional Hero Licenses. "These licenses grant you permission to fight against villains if someone's life is at risk." He told us.
He then told us that the success rate of passing the exam was less than five percent. Our task for the day in preparation for this exam was to create two or more signature combat moves, and Cementoss, Ectoplasm, and Midnight were here to help.
Naturally, we were all super excited! We hadn't had much chance to actually do normal hero activities, other than our work experience. Speaking of, I wondered how Ryukyu was doing, I hadn't texted her much recently.
Mr Aizawa told us to get changed into our hero costumes and to meet in Gym Gamma. When we got there, Cementoss explained he created it himself and can change the shape based on each individual's requirements.
Iida asked why we needed special moves, which I was wondering, too, but after the last few times I'd spoken up when the answer was quite obvious I decided not to. I was also still feeling inadequate after my fight with Dark Shadow.
He explained that the Hero License Exam was to test our aptitudes such as information gathering, judgement, mobility, leadership, and communication in various types of trouble. However, the most prevalent attitude was fighting ability.
Cementoss commented that bringing stability to a situation is a mark of a hero's true fighting ability. Ectoplasm explained that special moves are not always entirely offensive. He referenced Iida's Recipro Burst being worthy of being a special move as it allowed him to move extremely fast in a small amount of time which can turn the tides of a fight.
We started to understand a bit better what the point of having special moves was, and Midnight added to that by talking about Kamui Wood's special move, Lacquered Chains Prison which allowed him to hold enemies and render them immobile and ending the fight quickly and harmlessly.
"The purpose of the forest training was to help you develop special moves." Mr Aizawa said. "Since it was abruptly brought to an end by the League of Villains and you still have ten days of summer vacation left, you will spend those remaining ten days on developing your special moves before the new semester starts. It's also advisable for you to upgrade your hero costumes to aid further development in your special moves."
Moments later, each of us had an area and a clone to spar against, courtesy of Cementoss and Ectoplasm, and the clone asked me if I've come up with a move.
"Yeah, I've had a little something in mind..." I said, smirking.
I ran around him, throwing random punches, half of which didn't connect, and the ones that did weren't effective. The clone looked at me almost in disgust.
