"It's okay YN." Evelyn rubbed your back. You were currently sitting on your bed crying.
"I-I don't know what to do! I wanna tell him I like him, but I'm scared our friendship is gonna end!" You sobbed.
"Tell him when you feel like it's the right time." Eve stood up, "I have to go, it's about that time. I gotta go get dressed."
"Ok Eve. Have fun." You force a weak smile on your face.
When Eve left, you crawled under your covers and turned on your side, pulling the covers over your head.

When you woke up, it was around 8:15 and prom started at 8:30. You groaned and went downstairs to get something to drink until the doorbell rang. You went to the door, expecting it to be Eve, it was August. He had his hair lined up and he had on a nice tuxedo.
"Hey YN." He smiled.
"Hey August. Where's Melissa." You scrunched your eyebrows.
"She couldn't make it."
"Oh."
"So you gon let a nigga in or stay out here and freeze?" He chuckled. You giggled as you opened your door for him to come in. He sat on your couch and stared at you.
"You should really come to prom." August persuaded. You shook your head.
"I told you I don't have no one to go with."
"I'll take you." He smiled. Your face lit up as you stared at August.
"You'll take me?"
"Yeah. Now get dressed. You got 10 minutes." He said rushing you. You got off the couch and went upstairs in your room, in your closet.

You walked down the stairs as August stood up and stared at you with his eyes widen.
"Why do you keep staring at me like that? Do I look that bad?" You asked as your insecurity level rose.
"No no no, none of that. You look gorgeous ma." August took a step closer to you and took your hand.
"You ready to go?"
"Yep, let's go."

Lincoln High School
You and August both walked in the gym, looking at everyone. Eve walked up to you, yelling.
"OH MY GOSH YN YOU ACTUALLY CAME! HOW?! WHO DID IT?!" She hugged you. You looked up at August and she smirked.
"Oooh girl! We gon have a lil talk tomorrow." She giggled. You playfully rolled your eyes at her.
"Bye Eve go witcho boyfriend."
"Aight bye y'all have a good time!" She walked back to her boyfriend.
So you and August dancing and having a good time until a slow song came on. Everyone instantly started to link up together. You stared at August, who looked at you.
"May I have this dance?" He extended his arm out. You happily nodded and took his hand.
He wrapped his arm around your waist as you rested your arms on his shoulders. He swayed you guys side to side. It only felt like you guys were the only ones in the gym. You just wanted to kiss him right then and there.

"August, I really had so much fun." You smiled as you and August stood on your doorstep.
"I had fun too. More fun than I usual have with Melissa." He joked. You looked down and turned a light shade of red.
There was an awkward silence between you two until you broke it.
"Um, I guess I'm gonna go inside now. Thanks again August." You thanked him.
"Wait YN, c'mere." You walked to where August was. He cupped your face and leaned in, kissing you passionately.
You dropped the flowers on the ground and wrapped your arms around him. You both kissed for a good 2 minutes until he pulled away.
"My bad." He chuckled a bit.
"No, no it's fine. August, I have to tell you something." You said leaning on your door.
"I'm all ears."
"Okay, ever since middle school, I've been crushing on you, and I've been crushing on you hard. But us being best friends, I never said anything about it because I didn't want our friendship to end. All the girls you been with, I've been jealous and I cried when I saw you and Melissa kiss in front of me. You don't understand how much I love you. You just don't." You looked down.
August stayed quiet for a moment then he spoke, "But I do YN."
You looked up at him.
"I really do. I know how it is to love someone so much, but the person is too stupid to realize it," He grabbed you hand, "I love you YN."
"I-I love you too August." You said standing on your tippy toes and pecking his lips.

Hay guys. I had caught writers block right at the end so that's why it's kinda shitty. Oh and btw Melissa broke up with August at prom lolz. Also YNs prom outfit is in the media. I don't think ima update for the rest of the night so I'll update in the mornin.'
