You and August have been best friends since preschool days. You guys have had ups and downs but you can't stay away from each other even if y'all tried. But what August doesn't know is that you've been crushing on him since middle school and you still are in high school. You just don't wanna tell him because you're afraid it might ruin you guys friendship.

The bell rang as everyone ran out of 6th period History. You sighed and went to your locker, putting your history book away and getting out your trigonometry book until someone popped up behind you and scared you, making you drop your book.
"EEP!" You jumped and turned around. August smirked and folded his arms. You playfully hit his chest before picking your book off the floor.
"You scared me asshole."
August leaned on the locker and chuckled, "I know. That was the point."
You rolled your eyes until your other best friend Evelyn walked over.
"Wassup YN, Sup August." She greeted.
"Hey Eve."
"Whudda do foo!" August dapped her.
"So, y'all know what y'all wearing to prom?" Eve engaged the conversation.
"Yup." August nodded.
"I'm not going." You sighed.
"Why?" August and Eve both said in unison.
"One, I don't have a prom date, and two, I don't even wanna go. There's no point." You explained.
"Awww." Eve said sadly. You shrugged and rolled your eyes.
"I don't care though. I'd rather be at home."
Eve was about to say something until August girlfriend Melissa walked up to August and kissed him. You just stared at them. You felt like a piece of your heart just broke. You felt like you just wanted to cry right then and there.
You stared at Eve, who looked at you and rubbed your back. She already knows about you crushing on August. She actually wants you guys to get together but of course August was with Melissa.
Melissa broke the kiss and glanced at you and Eve, "Hey YN. Eve."
"Melissa." Eve scoffed. You didn't even bother to greet her. You looked at August, then Eve again.
"Um, I'm just gonna go to 7th period now. Talk to you guys later." You said walking to Trigonometry class.
