Evan watched as Alina wrapped her arms around herself as she sat on the balcony of his room. She had been given her own room but Evan had no intention of letting her sleep there alone. So he offered her a compromise. He would go to her room or she would come to his. She liked the fact that his room was where he grew up and that it had a balcony so she picked his room. The first night they had spent there they had cuddled and had fallen asleep from exhaustion. The following night Alina had spent it sorting some details out with her brother and sister and then with Elliot. She had decided to stay in New York and write from there. She could write anywhere but the last place she wanted to be without Evan was in Ash. Her family had understood and she had asked Leo to please not share it with mom and dad until they had found something on Kyle. Then and only then would she tell her parents what kind of danger she had been in. Evan had watched her sleep that evening until he had fallen asleep himself. When they awoke they decided to go for a run before breakfast. Alina hadn't done much of any excersize so it felt good to move around a bit. They ate breakfast on the way back to the house and that's when Evan realized that he had a commitment in Montana that he couldn't break. He had been asked to shoot at Glacier National Park. He would specifically be shooting the wonders of the park and not animals this time. He had already done a scouting trip before having met Alina so he was prepared but not ready to go. He felt he needed to cancel the assignment as he would be gone for at least three weeks. Although Alina felt disappointed she absolutely would not let him cancel it. "Evan, I can't have you change your plans because of me. I wouldn't be able to enjoy your company knowing that I was some how responsible for impacting your career. You have to go". Evan tried explaining that he had plenty of opportunities to take on other jobs and that cancelling this one would not have a detrimental impact in his career but that leaving her would have a negative impact on his heart. "You are trying to weaken me Evan Alexander. I won't hear of it." The moment she said his name something dawned on her that she hadn't given a second thought to until now. "Evan?" He looked at her beautiful face and clear caramel colored eyes and said "what is it my love, changed your mind already?". "Evan why is your last name Alexander but your brothers name is Maleck?". Evan smiled a little as he looked down at his feet and said "my family is well known in the Arts and when I left home after dropping out of college I wanted to build my life on my own. I didn't want help from my family nor the crazy expectations from my employers that would come with it. So I dropped Maleck from my name. When I got some notoriety it was as Evan Alexander and I never looked back". Alina looked at the beautiful man in front of her and wondered how she had gotten so lucky. He was kind and honest and a creative creature. He was also hot! She had been sleeping with him for the past few nights and her brain wasn't that tired that she hadn't realized what that could lead to. Right now she was looking at him and realized how hard he had worked to get to where he was. She would not be the reason for his loss of status or income or prestige. "Evan, I want you to go to Montana and if you won't mind I will stay here. Of course if your brother and grandmother are ok with it".h nun FB He loved her and he would do anything for her but right now all he wanted was to kiss her and hug her and never let her go. Reaching down and taking the hot cocoa out of her hand he helped her up and gathered her to himself. He kissed her forehead, then her temple, then her cheek and nose and finally he softly placed his lips on hers. It took just a moment for her to respond to his tongue as she let him in. They each held each other as if it was their last night together. He moved her to his bed. Evan sat down and he pulled Alina into his lap. With it moments they were panting and coming up for air. "Alina, no pressure ok? I'm here for the long run." She smiled at him and tucked her head into his neck. "I love you Evan. I don't know how I got so lucky. Not even my Camomile tea scared you away". Evan laughed and pulled her down on top of him as he lay on the bed. "There isn't anything that you could do or anything anyone could say to scare me away from you. I'm in love with you and I've never said that to another woman in my life. I do t intend to say it to anyone else either". Looking into his beautiful eyes she put her hand on his cheek and dropped kisses all over his face.
