He ran out of the house as soon as he could while his foot ached and his shin was bleeding underneath his pant leg. Why the hell had he let her go. The security officer told him she had run into the woods and another guard was on foot following her. He knew Alina was in top physical shape but she was not dressed for the weather nor the terrain. He had grabbed his parka on the way out and had hoped on an ATV. He quickly made time and caught up to the security officer and he pointed ahead where Alina should be. He saw the back of her sweatshirt, which was his; and headed off in pursuit. Within seconds he had caught up and was off the vehicle and right behind her. She wouldn't stop as he called for her and so he lunged at her and broke their fall as they tumbled to the ground together. They weren't that far in. Less than a mile but it was cold and the sky threatened to come down at any moment. "Alina. stop fighting me. I'm not letting you go and I won't fall for your trick again". He was angry and fearful of her wellbeing and her stubborn and prideful attitude wasn't making thinks any better. He anticipated her next move and squeezed his knees around her before she could deliver a blow to his manhood. He stared at her in disbelief but he saw anger and fear in her eyes and once's again he realized too late that she might be reliving a painful memory, but he wasn't Kyle and he would be damned if she didn't know it. "Alina!. Enough! You are a grown woman and right now your behaving like a child. These woods are not free of dangers even if there wasn't a psycho on the loose. The temperature is dropping and where did you think your were going anyway dressed like that?". He looked down at her now laying beneath him and heaving as her chest rose and fell. She was in grey leggings and suede boots. Not really appropriate for an outdoor walk much less a trek in this weather. She glared up at him as his words finally reached her. "Get off me! Now" He didn't like how she spoke to him. It was direct and indifferent. He kept still and watched her face. Her lips were turning blue and her face was lit up with the heat of her run. She was gorgeous. And perhaps a little more gorgeous in her anger. He couldn't help himself as he looked at her luscious lips and so throwing caution to the wind he quickly lowered his face and devoured her lips with his. She struggled as she gasped and that was all he needed to break through her lips and let his tongue speak for him. She tasted like strawberries and chocolate. He fought with her tongue until he dominated it and she moaned into his mouth. His mouth slid across hers at an angle to take her all in and then his free hand that wasn't holding her hands over her head where at her waist squeezing her and working its way under the sweatshirt. In a flash he realized she wasn't wearing a bra as his hand brushed against her bare nipple and they both groaned as fire ignited between them. Evan brushed across her nipple again but this time he took it between his thumb and forefinger and pulled on the peaking tip while keeping the kiss hot and sensuous matching the movement of his fingers to the movement of his tongue. Alina felt the heat as her blood coursed hot through her body and seemed to be the hottest at her chest and between her legs. Evan recognized seconds later footsteps approaching and removed himself from atop Alina as she struggled to stand up ignoring his hand to help her up. Her face was flushed, her lips swollen and her eyes were clear as crystal with a fire that was both lust and anger. Evan assured the guard that they were alright and that he should return to the grounds with the ATV and that they would head to the house on foot as they needed to talk. Alina made as if to object but Evan cleared his throat and she took it as a threat to do as he said. As the guard left she rounded on him to give him a piece of her mind and he reached out and grabbed her to him once again overwhelming her with his strength and size. "I'm not a child as you said and I will not be man handled." Evan ignored her as he watched her eyes ignite and her lips tremble. He looked at her lips again and told her they needed to leave now. He grabbed her hand and pulled her along. All the way back they didn't say a word. His legs were far longer than hers and so his stride was much bigger. She was struggling to keep up and halted as he move forward causing him to come up to a stop. "What is it". He was angry and she could tell she wasn't making it any better but she didn't care. "You're going too fast and I'm tripping. Let my hand go and I'll follow at my own pace". She smiled sweetly and he grunted. "Not a chance" and before she could offer up another complaint he had picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder as her head dangled towards the ground and her rump was high in the air. "Evan, put me down!" she yelled at the top of her lungs while she kicked and pummeled his back with her fists. She got a couple of good ones in before he squeezed her legs tighter and slapped her hard on the bottom. She howled in indignation but she stopped her kicking. "Once again Alina, if you insist on playing the part of a child I'm going to treat you like one". She was shocked at his being able to keep his pace the same while he carried her weight. He could hear her grumbling and muttering under her breath. He slapped her bottom again for good measure as he heard the words overgrown buffoon, ass, and bully as part of her complaints. This time he kept his hand on her bottom as she wriggled with all her strength and she continued to assail him with a series of insults all the way. He half smiled at all the words coming from her mouth and the fact that she was so angry she had allowed herself to cus. They were nearing the tree line when he noticed a couple of cars pulling up to the house. He set her down non too gently and before she could hurl more insults his way he clapped his hand over her mouth and pointed to the house. She stilled instantly and looked in the direction he pointed. Moments later they saw his brother descend the stairs and then it seemed Michael emerged from the large black SUV. She shivered and unconsciously and moved closer to Evan. Looking up at him they locked eyes and silently they called a truce.
Christian explained all to Michael and was surprised to learn that Michael already knew. He had actually received a call from his brother and that's why he was already in route when he had gotten Christians call. They spoke for a while longer before He asked to speak with Alina. Christian explained that she and Evan had gone out and that it might be best to speak with her tomorrow as she was still shaken up. Hearing his voice might not be the best idea right now. He left with a promise to call tomorrow.
Evan picked up his phone and walking away from Alina for a bit had a car pull up right next to the tree line as they emerged. He explained to Alina that it was best if they drove to the front part of the house to avoid Michael. She quickly agreed. Evan texted the staff and once they got there Evan asked Alina to wait in the car for him for a bit. He knew instinctively that she wouldn't run this time. Less than ten minutes later he came back out with two bags and her purse. "Evan what is this? Where are we going?" Evan looked at her and said "Kyle sent a couple of men to kill Michael last night. They don't have a clue where he is now. It looks like it's time for a change. You and I are gonna take a trip until things cool down. Michael has increased security at your house and Christian will do the same here but we all know he is only interested in you Alina. Christian will be meeting with FBI and state police next. You and I are leaving now". Alina looked up at the beautiful man who she loved desperately and she felt sucker punched at the knowledge of his jeopardizing his whole life for her. But was it out of duty or love. She didn't know.
