Evan ran up the stairs two at a time making his way to his room. His grandmother sat on the bed with Alina and when she saw him she leapt off the bed and into his arms. His grandmother smiled at him, nodded at his look and quietly left the room. Evan kissed her head, face, and finally her lips. She hung onto him like he was her last breath. His arms squeezed her tighter and dropped to her bottom as he lifted her off the floor as they continued to kiss soft and gently. She wrapped her legs around him as he walked her over to the bed. He sat down with her in his arms all the while kissing the breath from her lungs. The fear she had felt dissipated with every second in his arms and as she pulled away from the safety of his embrace she looked at his face that she now held in the palms of her hands and told him with her heart in her mouth, "Te amo, I'm in love with you Evan. You hold my heart and soul in your hands. I'm so grateful for you my love". Evan was awash with every emotion. Fear, lust, anger, and love. She told him she loved him in Spanish. Somehow it made everything so right and so real. She was everything he never knew he wanted and needed in his life. Her passions ran deep and her loyalties deeper. Never in his life had he wanted to give of himself everything that he was. Aside from his parents whom he missed every day of his life only his brother got to see who he was and what mattered to him. His grandmother, although she was the other constant in his life and would have given him the worlds; didn't truly understand him. She also hid a secret from him that had torn him in two from the moment he had learned it. Not even his brother knew. It was the singular moment in his life that he had felt completely alone and bereft at the loss of his world. Everything he believed and knew about his life had been turned upside down. He was suddenly different, and separate and not who he thought he was. Worse of all he was not his fathers son. The man he loved beyond imagination was not his father and as of that moment he guarded his heart and an iron gate closed down around it. The only one able to lift those gates from time to time had been his brother. He would die for Christian without hesitation and his love for him kept him connected. That would never change. Then one day a beautiful woman with sunshine in her eyes and a smile that could melt the hardest of hearts entered his life and he would never be the same. Alina was his lifeline he never expected to need or want. Her warmth and expressive heart enveloped him and he craved her attention, her smiles, her words of sweetness and love and her embrace and kisses. He loved her and until now he had said the words without the full impact of what they really meant. Evan was in love with her so deeply and so wholeheartedly that he trembled from the knowledge of it.
"Baby, baby I'm here. I'm here sweetheart. I'm never leaving you again love". He kissed her cheeks and her closed eyelids and then his lips found hers and his tongue slipped between her softly opened ones. He poured into that kiss everything he felt and wanted to tell her. The palms of his hands cradled each side of her face with a blend of softness and intensity. When they came up for air their eyes met and he sucked in his breath when she spoke in the barest whisper "make love to me Evan. Please....". He had heard her and yet his eyes never left hers as her words reverberated in his ears and his heart. Her lips were swollen from their intense kissing and her eyes were glassy with unshed tears. He lowered his forehead to hers and cupped her chin "my beautiful baby. There isn't anything more I want to do than make love to you, but..." her eyes searched his face as her hands dropped from his neck and onto his chest... "but...you don't want me". He barely heard what she said. It wasn't a question rather a statement. She starred into his eyes while hers filled with tears. She pushed away from him as she struggled to get off his lap from the straddle position she was in. "Alina, wait.... baby. Stop". He tightened his arms around her waist and she pushed harder. "Let me go Evan. Please let go!" Her voice had changed and it now sounded removed and somehow distant. Remembering that she had just been under a great deal of stress he released his arms and she nearly fell to the floor in her haste to get away from him. "Alina, please listen to me". But she had already walked into the bathroom and shut the door. He stood up to talk to her when a nock came at the door and his brothers voice asked to come in.
