He could feel his skin staring to freeze up around the cold metal of the pistol in his pocket.

The rain, the frowns of the people on the street would have made him back down if it wasn't for that man showing up in the small clearing in front of the bank he just left.

Only the left side of his face was visible to Jungkook, a old scrunched up frown on his forehead as he gazed up at the grey skies, not knowing how to avoid the downpour.

It drove Jungkook to take a leap that he might not survive, to start crawling through the busy street without an umbrella, blending in with the crowd before standing right in front of the man.

When did seconds turn into hours, he wondered?

Because he believed that the time it took for the gun to fire was much longer than half a second that it should have been.

The old eyes, wrinkly around the edges, of Mr.Kim held his gaze making the both of them stop time to enjoy each others suffering for just a little while.

God knows what is hiding in those deep and sunken eyes that held determination behind the shallow layers of Jungkook's irises.

The gunshot echoed through the street and as quickly as he came up to the man, he was gone, crouching down with the rest of the crowd that suddenly became twice as loud with their screaming and shouting.

The screams and shouts were probably even louder, but the gun he shot was too loud and he could still feel it ring in his head, causing him immense pain.

As soon as he was in one of the apartment complexes nearby the scene he ran up to the  rooftop and gazed down at the now empty sidewalk, nothing but his victim and a small crouching body besides him wearing a red coat.

How did he not see her before?

The girl was just still for a moment while Mr.Kim choked over his own blood trying to wave over anyone to come help.

He might have lived if there was anyone around.

He might have lived if the gunshot wasn't loud enough to scare people off.

Maybe it wasn't only the gunshot, maybe it was the image of the crimson liquid draining from his body and mixing with the rain that was pouring down the drains in the street.

He might have lived if the girl crouching next to him took his phone and called anyone, but she didn't.

Instead she threw her head back, her hoodie coming off, curls  of long hair getting soaked and face shining from the water that was hitting it.

Closing her eyes she looked peaceful.

A big contrast to the chaos around her, her small little face relaxed, eyes shut closed as she let the rain wash over her.

He leaned back and sat on the ground just taking a moment to think.

      That's exactly it.

That's exactly what Jungkook felt right this moment. He felt free. Liberated and washed off all the horrible things that happened to him.

      He felt safe.

Stepping through the tall gates came off easy to Jungkook this time, much like every other day in the past week.
