(This is a neighbor!au, college!au fic too...idk it changes a bit through the story. And the age gap mentioned is let's say around 10 years, give or take. Mentions of sexual abuse?? I think I can word it like that. Molesting an underage person?)
There is a lot of things that you expect from your last year in college.
You expect it to be hard.
You expect it to make you a caffeine addict by the end of the year.
You expect it to go as smoothly as you can possibly make it out to be.
What you didn't expect was a new teacher for your psychology and sociology course.
What you certainly didn't expect was for that teacher to be the one and only Park Jimin.
What a great day to sit in the front row, huh?
And right across his desk too.
How naive.
"Good morning class." unlike you, he still hasn't noticed you, despite your unfortunate choice of seats.
"My name is Park Jimin and I'll be teaching you this year. I'm new to the job, so please try and cooperate, we're all adults here, no point in behaving any differently." he smiled, still looking as charming as he did 9 years ago when you last saw him.
He sat down in his seat, starting to count the students that were present.
His finger passed from the top rows before finally settling his eyes on you and stopping the small motion he was doing with his fingers.
"Right..." he pursed his lips tightly, "Seems like most of you are here, I lost count. Shall we begin."
The class went by in a blur of long words and awkward eye contact every now and then, at the end of it you nearly wanted to crawl out of your seat and through the door because this sick reunion was sadly getting to you more than it should have.
Jimin stayed ever so eloquent and soft spoken as he always was, words dripping off of his tongue like honey.
You hated to admit how pleasing it was to hear his voice again.
Although you were quietly enjoying his explanation of the lecture, it felt like a blessing when he dismissed you.
Just like you expected him to, he approached the front row of seats, calling out your name to grab your attention.
"Y/N?" he was peaking somehow, leaning a bit to the side to see past your hair that you used to shield your face away.
You looked up, smiling lightly.
"Hi."
"I thought that was you." he ruffled your hair, but merely for a second before you flinched away, getting a few weird stares from the last few students that left.
"You've grown so much." his smile fell only a bit.
"Yeah, that happens when you don't see someone for the past ten years." you said picking up your bag, "Now if you'll excuse me Mr. Park."
"Why are you being so formal suddenly?" he asked, hands in his pockets while you turned around to face him.
You wondered if he was playing dumb, or did he genuinely not know when the distance between the two of you appeared.
