The darkness around her was endless. It almost felt like she was alone, but she was not. The droplets of water was the only nerve-wracking sound. She wished it would stop. Samantha hugged her knees, her body shook with sobs and the restless coldness in the atmosphere.

"I told you there would be no happiness where I'm not" His fingers brushed against her ear as they took a damp lock from brushing her cheek. "Why don't you stay?"

Samantha pivot her head to stare at Larry. "Look at you Sam, pale skin, and red eyes." He sighed, shaking his head. "I would always take care of you, no one would love you like I do."

"I don't want to be here" Tears leaked from her eyes. "I want be free from you....from everyone."

Larry's decent face began to turned pale, his eyes faded from the normal blue that had drawn her to him at the brothel and his body reduced to thinness, it's almost as if he had turned into a skeleton before her eyes. Like she always remembered in this nightmare. But she wasn't afraid anymore.

His cold fingers grabbed her cheeks, forcing her to look at him. She didn't want to belong, it was too much to carry on in both lives. Why can't she meet her mother? What was keeping her from heaven? As she stared into Larry's soulless dark orbs, Samantha realized there was no escaped. No moving forward. "Why do you keep tormenting yourself?" his nails slowly sunk into her flesh, she didn't flinched. Her entire body felt numb, it didn't matter what happened to it.

"I hate you....I resent the day I met you!" She sobbed.

With a growl, he dragged his nails, from her cheeks, taking some flesh with him. Blood trickle down her neck, soaking the white gown she was in. She looked at her hands and a glove of blood covered them.

"I need to show you something" Larry grabbed hold of her hair, pulling her behind him, Samantha remained sitting staring at her hands as he removed her from the darkness. The light almost blinded her as they reached the tiny room. She fell backwards, no longer under his support, it almost scare her how safe she was feeling with him. She didn't want to wake up to her misfortune, the ship, the cruelness of her life. Here, she no longer feel anything.

She smiled at the beams of the ceiling. Larry's face came to block her view immediately. His head moved back and forth and she was positive that if he had eyebrows, they would be creasing. "Something has changed with you Sam, you want to be here but you are just stubborn"

Grabbing hold of her arm, she was brought to her feet and pushed towards a mirror. Samantha gasped, her fingers reached to hover over her sunk cheeks with Larry's scraped marks. Her high cheekbones were visible and eyes looked as if they were forced backwards in her head. Dark tresses floated around her, like trees on a branch.

"What have you done to me!" her hands trembled as she touched her hair. "My golden tresses"

"You did that all to yourself Sam, It's who you are. Who you have always been." She gaze at him through the mirror. There wasn't much differences between the two of them. "A trapped soul inside a body. You die a long time ago, Sam. But you keep holding on.....torturing yourself. Please stay with me. We understand each other"

Samantha eyes clouded with tears, she knew the day she had died. It was when her mother left her all alone. She stay alive dreaming of a better place, a family. A brothel wasn't a better place. A house of whore wasn't a family. She knew that but they were all she had. They were the only ones that wanted her, they never leave her. She left them to be with Larry. Now she looked at the man beside her, she wonder which was worst.

"Sammy?" Her eyes drifted away from Larry, she looked at the mirror. Was it speaking to her? Calling her name? "Sammy?" There it was again.
